He didn't seem to know Roy was really out, probably suspected some kind of smart ass move by him and didn't want to lose the opportunity to finish him.

The fact that he took on Jones or Toney like it had aby meaning now and tried to beat them senseless.. well that does make me a tad less sorry for him.

That's part of the game, as is Lebedev taking a beating. If some of these pussified "boxing fans" don't like brutality, maybe they should go watch tennis or something! :nod

To be fair it wasn't his fault, ref was a dick that day too.

It was a cherry pick gone wrong.

Seriously, G. Jones came out back after a year's inactivity at the age of 41 to fight Lebedev.

    I'm glad he lost.

Actually I think it was Jones and Toney who wanted him based on his limited skills. Had he fought either in their prime he would have gotten annihilated. Whether he thought those fights had meaning I don't know. The rest of us sure know it didn't.

To be fair, he did put his hands out he knew Roy was gone and the ref should step in but the ref didn't so he did his job.

If you're blaming anyone blame the ref he's got to be assertive and dive in between them immediately, the way he nervously stepped in was **** refereeing and that last hit should not have been allowed to happen.

You can see he didn't want to land it by the way he reacts. He didn't celebrate he was shrugging his shoulders.

He probably thought Roy Jones was showboating
Its the ref jobs to get in the way

Don't know why the ref didn't step in.
It looked very reminiscent of the Zale - Cerdan knockout
