**** jones. He should have been trying to go after YPH or should have just went ahead against Chambers.

He Lebedev or he Jones? King would have got the WBA to strip Lebedev if he didn't fight Jones when they finally were ready to go ahead with it. Without a title i doubt Chambers or YPH would have been interested.

I'm not saying he's not a legit world class fighter, just that he isn't special amongst them. He doesn't seem to have the ability to adapt to being anything more than a power puncher. When that doesn't work a fighter needs a plan B. Going in everyone knee Jones was tough as nails. Maybe he thought he was fighting another old, shot fighter, I don't know.

I don't think there is any doubt he is still amongst the best cruisers. As far as Jones goes....there are many cruisers id pick to beat him.

Who said that he was something special? People create idols and then feel disappointed, what a dumb creatures...

Lebedev fought with one eye huge skilled guy with power and titanium chin and was still winning on points till round 11, he earns respect.

    Obviously I'm talking about Lebedev.

I doubt Chambers or YPH would pull out the fight after it was signed if he was stripped or not. LIke we say repeatedly we are in a age when fighters make the titles, not the other way around.

Today? Id give Tarver, JPH, Huck and Chambers all good shots at beating him as well as Lebedev in a rematch. Historically? There are many.

That is a nice sentiment and i wish it was true but for the majority of boxers and all promoters that isnt the case. YPH and Huck are both with Sauerland and i can't remember them every trying to unify in the last several years, Huck certainly hasn't. Chambers seems to want to take on a Champion right away and jump to the top of the division and taking on Lebedev who is rather unknown and doesn't bring much money probably isn't his ideal choice if he has no title. Little reward.

Wlod/Chakhkiev winner and Afolabi with K2 seem more likely to take tough fights and try to unify more than Huck or YPH. YPH has a hand injury and im not sure if he'll be able to fight his mandatory Alekseev in time, its already been 9 months since he fought Ross (and should have lost)

Yes they have a good shot but all fights would be very close. Hernandez would have big time problems with Jones power. And also he might even retire because his hand gets broken very often. Huck is a crude boxer without any great boxing skills. Chambers is not even fighting and Lebedev might never recover from this beating.

And Traver has just no chance in hell. When was the last time he beat a good Cruiserweight?:think

You're telling me he should get respect for being ahead on points against a 41 year old. Yeah right, only in fantasy land mate.

Tarver got busted after the Kayode fight i believe. It was pretty big news and its the reason he doesnt do commentary on Showtime anymore which is a shame imo.
