I think thats a **** decision to be honest. He may as well have pulled him out after the second, thats when Purdy was getting hit with damaging shots. In the last few Alexander lost his sting and was cuffing round the side of the head and some good bodyshots, but cuffs and bodyshots ain't gonna end your career! Could have been interesting down the stretch.Yeah Purdy wasn't gonna win but there was enough negatives creeping in from Alexander with the arm punching, less snap, hand injury...to warrant seeing if Purdy could win some rounds and gain a lot of credit.

Very disapointed with that, I think Barker was in a tough position, he would have been thinking what Tibbs would have done....and took the safe option.

 

He was not going to win the fight. Was only delaying Lucas/Peterson as well, **** it. Fight should never have happened in the first place.

 

Good call from Barker there. You're all going on about it being ****! He was taking 50+ punches a round to the side of the head and body and Purdy wasn't throwing anything back, was never going to win on points or knock Alexander out. All them punches weren't hard but is a big accumulative effect for a 12 round 1 side beating!

purdys corner was amateurish.

firstly they didn't notice alexander ****ed his hand up and didn't tell lee to adjust.

secondly that pull out after alexander was 1 handed and slowed down.

im watching international feed and they spotted the broken hand at the end of the 3rd and we could hear the corner - they were just like step it up.

barker getting in on the post fight interview also. he's like a ref who thinks its all about him and making decisions to put the spotlight on him.

 

He probably in hindsight would of been better saying ''Lee i'm giving you one more round, go for it. If it doesn't change i'm pulling ya mate''.

He did half warn him a few rounds earlier.

 

i'm all for protecting fighters but that stoppage was way to premature

 

He wasn't in the fight at all, and that was against a one handed opponent.

 

That fight was a joke. Purdy did **** all against a one handed fighter. Got pulled out before he got hurt. He didn't even make the weight for his world title shot.

 

This. It was a boring ****ing fight anyway.
