It doesn't matter, man. That's his world title shot. He was barely in a position where he was getting the **** beat out of him. If Barker was in that position, he would NEVER let any corner man stop him.

No chance of winning on points, and no chance of stopping Alexander. Getting beaten up for the rest of the 12 rounds just for pride is not good for your career in the long term.

It was the wrong call. Purdy took Devons best punches early on and was fine. Devon was slowing down and his left hand was jacked so who knows of Purdy mounted an assault you had to give him the benefit of the doubt there.

Think Barker was just in a tough position, so I'm not too critical, its his mate...he's got a busted nose, getting cuffed a bit and not winning any rounds, he's looking over his shoulder thinking what would Tibbs had done. It was a tough position, obviously.

But I think it was just poor, but then again, I enjoy seeing a good macho display and I liked some of what Purdy was doing. It was kinda entertaining. But I'd say 'pull him out' if he was getting hit with damaging blows but I genuinely don't think anything DA did in the last few was that risky to Purdy's career to outweigh the credit of going 12 and maybe seeing how Alexander lasts down the stretch with an injury.

Barker did warn him, Purdy ignored Barker from the start, Barker was telling him to move his head and said he was not happy with the volume of punches he was taking.

Barker did the right thing, Purdy was a punchbag for the entire fight, I do not remember a Purdy punch that made me think he was capable of turning it all around.

I honestly don't get the big deal with this stoppage. Alexander had been fighting with one hand for at least 3 rounds, Purdy couldn't do anything. He'd also slowed down for a round or two and Purdy was still hardly throwing anything.

Talking to Alexander in the ring and telling him his punches don't have anything on them. Who cares, he didn't do anything.

Barker had been telling him for a few rounds to move his head and show something offensively. Purdy didn't.

Out of all the stoppages to get upset over, this isn't one.

  14. You must have been watching a different fight. He wasn't slowing down at all
