George Foreman: "I've raised 10 kids, and there's always one child who can take a joke and one who can't. Muhammad could say something and tick Frazier off and Muhammad would be smiling about it."

In the heat of battle, things get said, stuff gets done. Don't hold a grudge against anybody and sort yourself out man, this is boxing! It is more emotionally involving and competitive on a individual sense than team sports. The win is everything in boxing sometimes, its not really like that in other sports.

Holmes, Ali, Frazier all great fighters all competitors.

Ferdio Pendejo...? I agree, i don't really know what his problem was with Frazier.

Show's you how heated and deep this rivalry was.

Muhammad Ali is an American traitor and draft dodger. Not only he's an American traitor, he's a traitor to his own race for calling a fellow black man a gorilla.

I'm not exactly an Ali fan and usually agree with what his critics say but apart from anything that has to do with boxing, this was the one thing he should be applauded for. It wasn't cowardice. I think it took more balls to take a stand against the government in the situation he was and risk at least prison.

If he actually went to Vietnam, he wouldn't even see a battlefield, he would be doing some silly propaganda **** like exhibitions for the soldiers and the cameras, like Joe Louis and he would become a national hero. Instead he stood for his convictions and has my 100% respect for that.

You must be pretty young man.

Don't you recognise humanity when you see it?

People are ****, and the best shows/documentaries are the ones that don't try to hide and sugarcoat it.

You would train for 2months, have all the commercial aspects of the fight fall into place, and then blow yours and everyone else's money by probably having the fight called off, all because you got upset that someone said something bad about you?

Thats god awful sense and an extremely childish-level of discipline to throw your upcoming pay cheque away and have yourself marked off as a liability for future business. Very dumb.

In what sense? Anything else than in the HBO's documentary? Care to elaborate?

Brainwashed was too big or harsh a word but Ali was infacturated with the NOI and been all militant ala Malcom X and was used as their public figure mouthpeice

it wasnt jus hyping up a fight at all at times,,, calling Joe Louis an Uncle Tom was uncalled for as he definatly wasnt an upcoming oppenont
anyone whose not seen HBO;s doc on Joe louis (think its called american hero betrayed) make sure you watch it, its quite sad at times but brilliant

Personally ive much more respect for someone like Joe then Ali...but i suppose Ali was still young and was tryin to find his way in the world at times

For one Ali wasn't the saint he was portrayed to be its goes in deep about some of his personal beliefs. And I don't want to put this wrong Joe had some issues too but loyalty wasn't one of them.
