If Khan's chin and power improves at 147 then he is still a force at World Level..

Noting since Khan debut he has only moved 5lbs in weight from 135-140 and watching his last fight where he was getting hurt by non-puncher Diaz its clear Khan has now out stayed his stay at 140 and needs to move up 147 so he can make the weight better and come in the ring fit and strong not weight drained which is effecting his chin and power clearly.

Khan is not known to have the best of chins anyway, but in the past has taken good shots off Maidana, Zab, and even a 155lbs PEDerson, so looking so weak chinned vs Diaz was wrong.

  4. That's a lot of "if's" dude. If i made 26 million next year I could have a Caligula esq orgy with 50 victoria's secret models

Given that his power has dramatically decreased at 140,what on earth makes you think it will improve at 147?

He accused Matthyse of ducking him(alongside the likes of Marquez,Morales and several others) so why doesn't he make his point about being the best at 140 before moving up.
And people hit harder at 147.Some guys can improve at higher weights because the extra weight they can put in their legs means that their punch resistance can improve, but Khan will always have a glass jaw,and all the heavy squats and extra weight in the world won't change that.

I'm glad the guy's around because he brings excitement, but the OP's suggestion is completely unrealistic optimism I'm afraid.

I see the 'struggling to make weight' as another excuse unfortunately. One that prevents him from learning and improving. It is never his fault. It's either his coach, his weight, a mysterious judge, or a lucky punch. I would really like to see him admit his weaknesses and not throw the blame on something else, this is the only way he will begin to learn.

Yes i agree with this also, but this weight issue i believe is a real issue and ive myself have been wanting himto move up in weight when Bradley and Alexander moved upto 147 Khan should of went up there too at that time.

Give it a bloody rest, Darni. Is it gonna' have to take Khan to die in the ring or something to make you realise he's not gonna' live up to the potential you thought he would?

I just can't see him being that successful @147lbs at the minute. Still needs more learning bouts under Hunter, but more importantly, he needs to be in the gym to learn. Alexander is a tough bout for Khan IMO.

But don't you realise that he carries practically no power at elite level at 140(an has only shown power on occasion there) so if anything, his power will be even poorer at 147.
I used to think Khan would grow into a 154 fighter but the truth is he will be in terrible trouble at elite level at 147.
And Bradley and Alexander were moving up from 140.Apart from the first couple of fights at 140 Khan has got worse and worse and he moved up there from 135.
It's a nice thought if you're a fan to think that Amir's found another explanation as to why he's being regularly found out and it's the weight.
But we've heard it all before.

Problem is if you are losing power and then your whole gameplan fails due to the other guy is not respecting your power, Khan first needs to be fighting at his own weight where he feels good and then he can improve.

  15. I wish Amir Khan would read that. Wise words...
