Matthysse is a very skilled fighter with insane power

I'd like to see him fight Garcia next. I thought before last night that Lucas would beat him and Peterson and his performance only emboldened my opinion.

He lets his punches go very naturally and, for someone with huge power and a lot of stoppages, he's quite unusual in that he doesn't seem to be in love with that power. He just lets the ko's come to him.

I'd prefer to see him clean out 140 than move up to fight Floyd.

 

Yeah have to agree he doesn't seem to be your typical slugger KO artist seems to have some decent boxing skills and a good chin to match.
I'm a big fan of Garcia however I think LM takes him out most certainly.

boxing is an interesting sport, sweet science and ****, but sometimes fighters who doesnt look flashy and super skilled are much more effective(for example garcia, matthysse). The reason:

they are not afraid of trading punches, they sits on their punches and have chins.

Really hope we get the Garcia fight next, whoever wins that can move on to 147lbs and a potential Mayweather fight

 

Matthysse had never been your careless slugger. He's a boxer puncher. Always has been. If the Matthysse detractors didn't know before, they know now.

He doesn't stand a chance against Mayweather because Mayweather will not fight him. How can you kill what is already dead?
