foreman grinds dokes down with heavy jabs and one twos. dokes, whilst quick, was not a major league hitter. i can see foreman winning in 7/8 rounds

IMO a prime Dokes would easily UD this version of Foreman, and even a 89 (focused like against Holyfield)- Dokes would have solid chances to outpoint Foreman...

I think for the brief period that Michael Dokes was actually serious in 1989, he could have given Foreman some trouble. In my opinion, Foreman's comeback peak probably took place between 1990-1994. We have to remember that it took him a while to get back on track after that 10 year layoff, and he really hadn't fought anyone of significant quality until he started beating guys like Cooney and Rodriguez. Dokes was drug free for the first time in years, training with a better staff, and keeping active. His fight with Holyfield was a tremendous performance, even in defeat.

I think Dokes might have won a close decision over the same Foreman who beat Everett Martin, but George's power and defense would still be a huge factor. A late knokout for George could have been a possibility as well.

Dokes,at this point, outpoints George. Providing he's as fired up as he was against Holyfield.
