Lucas matthysse the real thing or overhyped

    Yes he is exciting,can punch and has a good record But I'm still not sold on him as a threat to the elite You would think listening to everyone that he is unbeatable,and I don't want to start another khan thread but for everyone to just presume Lucas destroys him is surely shortsighted So how good is he,does he beat Garcia and if he goes 147 what level does he sit at?

    People are always gonna go a little crazy when it's a guy who's a real power puncher but yeah I mean he definitely looks the real deal to me.

    Peterson is a world class fighter never been stopped and he just pole axed him inside 3 rounds.

    He's a danger to anyone in the Division with that power.

    But certainly not unbeatable.

    Been saying he's the real deal for 18 months. Terrific fighter, he's improved massively since the Judah & Alexander fights.

    Can't see anyone from 140-147 beating him, apart from Mayweather.

    Over hyped at the moment. He can hit hard but his power is being over rated here, he took out Peterson last night but Peterson been dropped numerous times before so its not like he has a granite chin.

    In my mind he's still undefeated, I had him beating both Alexander & Judah.

    I'm struggling to see anyone beating him at 140.

    He beat Alexander and Judah imo and is as dangerous as they come. The 140-147 equivalent of Golovkin.

    didnt watch the judah fight but he won the alexander fight comfortably imo.

    Honestly if i didn't see the fight last night i would of thought Peterson was in a coma by the reaction on here.

    He does carry massive power as Peterson and Dallas jnr weren't
    Even hit flush

    But what about the likes of maidana,Ortiz,Alexander 2,Bradley and that's before Marquez,pac and floyd

    It will be a good watch but as with golovkin we still don't know how good they are

    2 exciting additions to 'big time' boxing though

    Before last night I was a big sceptic, and I would've picked a number of fighters at 140 to beat him (Peterson included)... but after last night, I'm sold. He's better than Golovkin (who I still think is massively overrated), and the number 1 guy at 140 right now, along with Garcia. His power is scary.

    I was going to do a observation thread on Lucas. Might leave it for now but what i will say how can anyone say he's overhyped?. He's beaten everyone he's fought IMO and lets have it right here he's best the best guys around him and taken out even the danger men like Ajose. Some may feel he did lose the two fights but this guy is clearly the real deal unlike others who've come along.

    This is one thing i'd leave this thread with. Does Matthysse ship a lot of punches? and if not why?. Think about it because this guy IMO doesn't take much punishment for a supposed brawler and crude banger. Al Bernstein who's a legend said he's a slugger in build up. Al's wrong IMO this guys got more to him then a Maidana.

    I don't write Garcia off though, But this guy came to USA on Thursday off back of his house being burgled and passport being ripped up yet still does his job and in sublime fashion.
