No doubt about it, its better than fox sports fight night and a slight step up from ESPN fight nights but its by no means a HBO PPV card. Which says everything really.

Why isn't Geale fighting Golovkin in the States on HBO ? Surely thats a better fight with 2 of the top 3 middles fighting for the US audience.

He will never fight GGG mate, 20 days after he won the title from sturm a purse bid was called by GGGs people and Geale had not even contemplated fighting Mundine at the time and wasnt even intrested in fighting GGG. They will make up every excuse in the book to avoid GGG. The first excuse was that they were fighting for peanuts and it was on a small show, yet he is fighting for peanuts now and on a HBO BAD card.

Why didn't HBO's people demand a Geale-Golovkin fight be on their network to then build up a mega unification for the winner to then fight Martinez ?

Look guys this debunks every one of Ty's arguments. Even Raphael and Tom Loeffler agree.

Ty is just being argumentative because he hates Geale.

Not even contemplating? Doesn't really make sense Ty

The fight was announced in either the first or second week of October..I'm thinking more like the 2nd from memory.

So you you reckon they weren't even thinking Mundine let alone already in negotiations 3 weeks prior to that announcement.

Geale is an unknown in the states Francis mate , this fight is a good enough fight (a feeder fight I believe the term in HBO speak) , Barker is known in the states and the winner will probably get offered up to GGG post Macklin fight providing they both win their respective fights . I understand everyone's frustration when it comes to Geale but he had to take the Mundine fight , $2 million and to remove the so called Mundine defeat couldn't be ignored , anyone not understanding this just gotta be thicker than an echo boys scarf .

Provided Geale and Golovkin win their fights, they still won't fight this year seeing as they are both due for mandatory defenses in their next fight. We won't see Golovkin vs Geale until 2014.
