Who needs Kell Brook?

His career is definately not turning out the way some may have envisioned.

 

I love kell brook. If he beats carson jones and then someone like a mosley or something.. Hes going to be about and around the top10-15. And then fights are out there.

 

his career feels as though it is a few yrs behind schedule , he should have really kicked on after beating hatton

 

Tbfair.. Across the pond people do know who he is.. People in uk just over exaggerate and say no1 knows him. When they actually do or heard of him as english talent.. So he is known by some people.

 

Gambit I am guessing you watched khans interview with ifilm London got all excited and thought you would have a rant. You obviously dislike Eddie and building an argument up through emotion rather than logic.

If brook and Alexander didn't have their injury problems the fight would of happened and he would of competed for the world title this weekend. Unfortunately it didn't and kell is now in a position where he hasn't fought for close to a year. The jones fight is to get brook in the swing of things again and prove a point against a fighter he under performed against last time round.

No opponent for his 2nd fight has been confirmed yet and I agree he does need a decent test. Diaz gave khan lots of problems and may be an easy fight to arrange so makes sense. As you said kell isn't a name on people lips at the moment so may be hard to match as he is high risk and low reward. Negativity adds no value slagging off one of our fighters who has had a tough year.

 

I think his main problem's gonna be his lack of personality.

Someone with some media savvy needs to take him under their wing.

Any Man you have it spot on he is a decent boxer but does lack the charisma. I think eddie hypes him well but he will always struggle with his david beckham like voice and shy personality to build himself up as a fighter.

But earlier in his career wasnt he doing the naseem hameds things. Like jumping over ropes to get in the ring. Talking cocky and all those things.. What changed?

 

Maybe he realised earlier than Naz how tough things were gonna be at that level.Naz stopped doing it just before he got in with Barrera.Got a bit psychic,maybe?
Regarding Kell,it would be good for British boxing if he did well,got a title shot,etc.How could it not be?But a lot of us are getting a bit stalled by nothing happening and talk of opponents who are maybe a bit below him.As of last Thursdays boxing news,he's on the Hull bill IF his injury is clear,which would suggest even the Jones fight isn't definite.Anybody?
