Yep I'm still not sold on him just yet, will wait for the Garcia fight to try gauge Matthysse's level. The Garcia's will definitely be hatching a strategy and looking for something they can exploit in Lucas's boxing which will hopefully challenge him a little. A blow out like Peterson showed us nothing that we haven't seen before from Lucas.

Styles make fights. The guy is very good at what he does....which is knock ****ers the hell out. He basically destroyed a top 4 guy in peterson who had previously gone more or less gone punch for punch with other top dogs Khan, Bradley and ortiz. What Matthysse can hit he can beat. Garcia, Bradley, Khan, Rios, and Alvarado are all hittable guys. Of all of them I'd say Bradley probably has the best boxing skills and therefore would have the best chance. Judah and Alexander were one or two rounds away from getting KTFOed when those fights when to the score cards. They would be close fights but I wouldn't favour either in the rematches.

JMM is JMM. We'll see how he does against Bradley but I wouldn't favour anyone other then floyd over him at the moment.

The people questioning Matthysse againt Duran are obivously out of there tree. But it is worth mentioning that out of all the fighter in boxing today Matthysse and Takashi Uchiyama are the fighters that remind me the most of Duran's fighting style.

huge stoppage win over a guy many thought was going to beat him, this time the after fight hype is justified.

That always happens the day after a good performance. It's already starting to die down.

If I was a real sucker for hype I'd be calling him the greatest of the last 20 years, but because I'm not I'll hold off to see how he handles Garcia before making such statements.

Some people get caught up in the hype.

I am in agreement with the bolded part

as far as Mattyssee I found myself disapproving of the hype prior to the Petersen fight saying well he hits hard we know that but whose he beaten?

He just trounced a top guy at the weight with ease. I used to think Garcia would tool this guy and stop him but Lucas has looked solid in his fights and Garcia limped out vs Judah

The Garcia vs Mattyssee fight gets closer in my mind following this weekend

it almost reminds me of the Magarito hype after Cotto how he was compared to all these greats in RING Mag. If he demolishes Garcia then I say give him a Floyd fight he would have earned it

Go watch Pacquiao smash up Hatton on youtube, then come back and say Matthysse is at that level.

It was more than just a huge win.

Lucas really wowed me because he took Peterson apart with his LEFT. That was really unexpected. He also landed a lot from way outside. - Also unexpected.

This is a fighter who has, besides insane power, a strong work ethic - He just keeps getting better.
He also has excellent ring IQ, able to change his gameplan based on what his opponent is doing.

This is a very serious combination. So let the hype train roll, baby.......

True, he's deserving of a matchup against Bradley.

If no one hypes boxing is dead theories in return in full force. If they do hype then things are going overboard ridiculous. Very normal for fans to celebrate a fighter coming off a big unexpected victory, especially when that fighter has a fan friendly style.

    Judah schooled him

Tho.... Judah schooled prime floyd for 4 rounds as well

I don't think he can beat floyd.... Yet, but I think he has serious potential
