I have him at 15. After winning the title, him getting starched twice by journeyman hurts his resume, his standing in H2H matches and his legacy when compared to the elite in the HW division.

I have him ranked 6th behind Louis, Ali, Holmes, Johnson and Foreman. One of the best resumes, a h2h nightmare and beat every man he fought as a pro. Would undoubtedly have been top 3 if he didn't get lax and lose to McCall and Rahman. He was easily better than both when focussed, but you have to lose points for those losses.

    I'd rank Lennox joint #2
    1.. Ali
    2 Lennox & Joe Louis

George Foreman told us at the fights one night that " I'd find some excuse not to have to fight Lewis, I don't fancy that big right hand catching me"

He's my #5, behind Ali, Louis, Holmes and Frazier.

 George. It's just meaningless politeness, really. He also said he'd do him in a couple rounds at one point as well. The man who fought Ali, chased a second Ali fight, fought Frazier twice, Norton, came back for Holyfield and chased a fight with Tyson in his late thirties and early forties wasn't going to excuse himself out of a fight with any man, when he was around initially, of course.

In all honesty George had an excuse not to fight Quarry either.
