He did say Froch beat him fair and square, but mention the injury as more of an psychological factor more than physical one. Talked about how he felt waiting for the injection 2 hours prior to the fight.

 

Tell me BB,it's pretty apparent where in my posts that I'm having a laugh.

Where else do you see me being disparaging about Bute.The post about excuses was perfectly valid.

If you can look at my posts and think that my fear that his injury might be worse than being admitted is me being disrespectful about your hero,then that English of yours that I've praised before needs some work.

Making fun of him wanting Froch, and being ironical about it not that quite respectful are we...

I think he actually wants Froch, not sure Interbox want's him, but I believe he might impose his will against just like with Pascal.

 

How can he really make it when he has to sit out for more than 4 months then he has a scheduled fight with Pascal, and the earliest date he could he said he would towards the end of 2014. Imagine how you guys will react if he dumps the Pascal fight for Froch rematch... He's scared, he ducks, etc.

 

His team knocked it back for this year and that was perfectly understandable,but this belief some have that Froch is under Bute's thumb for as long as Bute wants to pretend that he wants the rematch is starting to grate.

And I don't blame Bute.It's the smart move to keep loyal paying fans onside by telling them the only thing they really want to hear.

But I believe there are Bute fans out there who see it for what it is.
I just hope the guy isn't as badly injured as I suspect and goes onto have some sort of career before retiring.
But some people need to get real about this rematch.It's Froch who will decide if it happens,not Bute.
Do you honestly believe a guy who's almost 36 is contractually obliged to keep fighting for as long as it take for Bute and his team to feel "ready"?

Can they sue him if Bute's not ready until mid 2015 and Carl has already retired or mapped out his last fight or two?

 

You really think we'll be saying he ducked Pascal for an easy fight with Froch?

And I'm sure Pascal's lawyers would have something to say about that.

 

Fighting Froch with a busted up hand is not smart. You have to hit a guy like that with everything you have to keep him off of you.

Question to my UK posters: Is it legal to take a local anesthetic that close to the bout? I'm assuming so based on Bute's so publicly acknowledging it, but this sounds like the Mayweather/xylocaine scenario to a degree.

 

I know it's very common and legal in football(soccer to you) Jeff,but I don't know about boxing.

 

It's very common in American football, as well. To the best of my knowledge it is illegal in boxing in the premier states like Nevada.

I doubt Bute would admit to something illegal, but taking a shot to numb up a hand before a fight just doesn't sound right.

 

Makunouchi Ippo did it, before the Sendo fight. :yep ... so that means it must be legal.

 

I'm sure he was injected with a legal substance, that helped with the pain.

TBH, I half expected to see some Bute hater accuse him of cheating and take over the thread. I was surprised I was the first to mention it.

 

Talk about making excuses! I'm sorry but Bute just isnt as good as his fans hyped him up to be.
