Thing is boxing is badly organised-

We have 5 weights in a 24 pounds difference. D. Haye fought Wlad with a 33 pound difference. I also well understand the concept that 5 pounds at a lower weight means far more than at a higher weight. What we dont need is 5 different weights in a 24 pound range, 3 would suffice.

Again, if boxing had say just two belts to avoid one champion avoiding top fighters like Paterson did with Liston, and just had 7 or 8 weight categories in the whole sport...then I belive Floyd record of 44 would look far different,

H needed to fight the best at 140, did he do that? no

He needed to fight the best at 147, did he do that? no, he retired instea to duck them after figting a 140 fighter at 147, his one big chance came to cement his legacy against the pacman, just look at what he did

and now he is refusing to fight the best at 154

what does he have to do?

to be the best, you need to beat the best, remember that son.

Too far. He'd had to been way more active and of course beat many more quality names. Most top fighters of the past who fought like 3-5 times per month ended their careers with around or exceeding 100 fights despite not being undefeated but beating more top names cementing them over Floyd. Robinson for instance was like 133-2 beating many good names like Lamotta, Angott, and Gavilan. Nuff said. Thats why I get tired of the "ATG" arguments because guys nowadays couldn't do the same werent as warrior-minded plus guys of then would be a bit stronger in these times.

Floyd is still great but his inactivity and lack in consistent quality wins makes me not consider him ATG. Thats with many fighters of these days not just him. Other than Mares guy is starting out very strong. Floyd has dominance but he has never unified or really "dominated" 140 or 154. Especially 154. Beating Williams when he could've instead of retiring, Martinez after Williams-Martinez II, and beating Alvarez altogether would've done wonders for him. Only Williams fight you can truly hold against him unless he never faces Alvarez which would be a shame.

Classic example of ignorance from a boxing fan.

It's not always who you fight but WHEN you fight them at at WHICH weight.

The marquez fight a classic example floyd didn't want to risk it against marquez so came in the heavier bigger man at a large cost heavy fine.

To be the best you have to beat the best at THEIR best not wait until they been in wars or are on the slide or make smaller men come up in weight (Cotto) (Hatton) (Mosley) (DLH).

Floyds career is good but actually pretty fake when you dig deeper.

Ray Robinson had over 100 KOs, let alone wins....... neither floyd or anyone else in recent history is even close.

He could build a time machine with all that dough, go back and:

    Fight Mosley at 135
    Defend against Casamayor at 130
    Fight Cotto at 147
    Fight Pacquiao in 2010
    Fight Martinez at 160

No great fighters around his weight class?? Floyd is in the weight class of a fighter who won fighter of the decade. How does your ATG status not rise if you beat the fighter of the decade, in his prime? What nonsense are you talking about Jack.

Then theres Canelo one weight class above. We'll see.

Boxing legacy has never been defined on how many wins you have or how many KO's. It is defined on who you have beaten. Do you disagree?

A good start would be for the kid to start facing real challenges while those challenges are still a threat and still at their best.
But in stead he selects Guerrero type fights and you all want us to give the man props for that ****? you want me to call him the greatest? are you ****ing crazy?

Youre prolly right. Guerrero's better, orrr maybe Ricky Hatton?

Btw dont think I am trying to point his worst opponents. Ill let you pick it out...what's his best win? Who is at the top of Floyd's resume.

44 fights in 17 years. That's roughly averaged to 2.5 fights a year. That's one problem. Another is the fact that as long as he has been at WW, Floyd has missed all the legitimate threats and real WW's.

Floyd will never be the greatest, not even top 50 with all those *** on his resume, taking a vacation when everyone's eyes on him to take on the challenge? fighting ONCE a year for the last what, 5 years?
