You gotta be kidding Panama's all time top ten shits all over Russia's all time top ten and they are a much smaller country than Russia.

 

since Manny and Duran are the best fighters out of both countries probably. it depends who you think is greater on that top level. Although I would say Panama. Ismael Laguna and Eusebio Pedroza clinch it for me. .

 

Great question. Top 5 from those countries all time, I'd say are Duran, Pacquiao, Laguna, Brown and Garcia (with Pedroza and Villa around even at 6 and 7), so that gives Panama an edge. That said, depth is on the Philippines' side. If you were to go to top 10 or 15, Philippines would have far more guys on my list. I think it's pretty close, but that's no slight considering Panama is much smaller. I probably give a slight edge to Panama, but my opinion could change daily.

 

pretty ****ing even...... there are more great filipinos but the top greats from panama are higher ATG's than the top ones from the Philippines. Slight edge to Panama I guess.

 

Cuba and Puerto Rico deserve to be mentioned as major boxing producing countries.

Panama, but recent years Phillipines have made their mark. Espinoza was a hot and cold fighter like Terry Norris and won and lost to the best, but on his best days that mofo was a beast. The same fighters who had decisioned or knocked him out Luisito would destroy with a vengeance. Easily my favorite Filipino fighter. Panama in the 70's was a powerhouse.
