I'm not jealous I actually find it sad that a man in his 40's is reduced to earning a living by offering himself as a human punchbag. He's already a millionaire and he has children, he's just been brutally KO'd in last two fights and he knows that win or lose he won't ever win a world title anyway, he's known that for a long time too. I find it sad in the same way I find it sad that Holyfield fought on for the money, I don't like to watch old men getting beaten up. Fair enough if audley was 41 and had something left but he's not vitali and he's shot now, even vitali is retiring now anyway and he's hardly taken a shot since the Lewis fight. It also clogs up the fixtures when a younger or more avoided fighter gets an opportunity, audley spouting his usual breeze then getting hammered does nothing for the sport, his health or his legacy, all it does is put money in his pocket.
2013 is the year of Audley, first Chis, second up Fury, then redemption against Price before rounding off the year with the ultimate revenge against best mate/mortal enemy David Haye.
Thing is mate have you ever boxed? I know rationally its like give it up, your getting knocked out...but when your a fighter its hard to admit getting beaten up, it hurts your pride...when i fought amateur...i hated losing, always wanted revenge or wanted to come back. I managed to avenge 4 defeats, 2 got away...and it still bugs me.
Thing is mate, sometimes these decisions shouldn't be left simply to a fighter with these emotions. Its time someone sat him down be it a trainer or family member and said look Audley enough is enough. At the end of the day no one wants him to end up seriously hurt, and a 41 year old man taking more and more power shots off some of the most powerful punchers in the World isn't likely to end well.
Aren't you a little 3-0 curious? On how he crushed Williams faster than Vitali when he was still something.
I get this sentiment but I presume you actually tried to win these fights and that they were reasonably close rather than total obliterations?
