Is Paulie's trash talk starting to make him unlikable?

It's actually making him the most popular he's ever been. People are becoming fans of his because they like what he's putting it to use to. And that of course is to humiliate Broner. Sure, he's lost in the ring before and his fighting abilities aren't as impressive as what he can talk up, but still, he comes across as a genuine, likeable guy that isn't putting an act on. He's naturally that sharp and witty, so he gets away with it.

You could hit Adrian Broner in the back of a head with a hammer and curb-stomp him into a nursing home and you wouldn't necessarily become "unlikable" for it.

 

After the fight these guys will embrace and like each other. Paulie is just marketing the fight, although some of his comments are a little too much for my taste. I like fighters to say how they will beat a guy, not get into different things which has nothing to do with boxing. But people will get interested and it will sell much more than had they not made ridiculous comments at press conferences. Grudge matches sell. and usually the fighters respect each other after. Hearns and Hagler like each other now, and Hagler does not like Ray much. Before their fights Hagler and Ray were friends, and Marvin and Tommy couldn't stand each other.

 

Not at all. You mad that Paulie is making your boy look like an idiot? If it wasn't for Paulie straight up abusing Broner verbally, I wouldn't even be rooting for him.

 

Uh no the opposite effect, and considering who he is bashing he is becoming more likeable.

 

It's who he is fighting... if he talks trash against a low level or a humble fighter, then people would start to hate him.

 

His cockiness and over the top antics are one of the reasons I like him so much!

The fact that hes incredibly tough and has made it as a boxer without any real puch only makes him more likeable.

That's right. And on top of all that, he's a fighter who's been around the block. He knows what's what around this the sport, knows a good fighter when he sees one, and is the first to give props to a good fighter in the event he loses.
