Khan looked damn awful in that fight. Khan also showed some crazy power in dropping Maidana hard with a power-shot to the body. It was a damn good fight, but Khan just barely survived it. He won it with his ****ing iron-heart. Dude may have a glass chin, but his heart is ****ing iron. Khan seems like the type of guy that would only quit if he's dead.

Oh, forgot to add that even though Khan showed he has heart, I though Maidana won the fight.

Do you remember if the judges gave Maidana round 10 as a 10-8 round? That coupled with the BS point deduction for Maidana throwing an elbow at the air, could have been huge for Maidana on the final cards. IMO the fight should have been a Draw.

At the very least. It was a damn good fight, though.

He won because he is more skilled than Maidana. Maidana was very close to being out of there in the first round. Khan's defensive woes made the fight a lot rougher than it should have been.

Nah, Hunter's the perfect fit for Amir at this point in his career. Freddie simply wasn't giving Amir the sort of attention he needed and Virgil will sort Khan's footwork out and make him a more balanced fighter without changing who he is.

Agree with the first statement, but the second statement is premature, really. He's only had two training camps under Hunter, and considering Khan still doesn't train in between bouts (if I am correct) any improvements/changes won't be instant.

Can't really blame the trainer if the boxer doesn't want to train/learn.

Maidana is a warrior and he is exciting to watch, but he is a B level boxer.

I thought the fight should have been a draw anyway without the BS point deduction. Cortez was also being a **** ref as always and not allowing Maidana to work inside.

Everyone is rushing Khan's improvement. The problem is, Hunter is slowing down his improvement.
Khan hasn't got a good chin, Roach realised that and made Khan rely on speed, flurrying in and out. Now Khan needs to know how to trade smarter.
