So is Froch v Kessler getting the Casuals involved? Is the hype working?

I'm watching Froch v Kessler at mine with one mate but when Haye fought Harrison I had a living room full and when Haye fought Wlad I had a garden full. So going on this basis the casuals aren't getting involved in the fight.

I think one problem is that Sky Sports News isn't on freeview anymore so a casual sports fan who doesn't have sky will be missing all the hype whereas in the past they will have got sucked in by seeing the hype on freeview Sky Sports News.

How is everyone else finding the hype and are your mates who are casual fans getting interested in the fight?

I don't care if the casuals aren't getting interested in this fight. Carl Froch is a proper fighter for proper boxing fans, and I'm sure he doesn't mind not being as popular with casual fans compared to the likes of Haye, Hatton, Khan etc.

Hopefully Froch gets sparked and nobody buys the fight

sport fans knows all about theres been a steady flow of kessler froch interviews for months on sky sports and talksport

boxing fans are probably gettin sick of hearing about it - ringside has been like a mini advert for it since it was announced.

watched the sky repeat of the weekends fights and the advert for froch kessler filled about a third of the screen

I'm the only proper boxing fan out of my group of mates, the other lads are all casual fans when the big fights are on. I have found that they have all been buzzing for Froch/Kessler though and I'm having about 5/6 of them around to mine on Saturday to watch it. I think like most casuals though they are more looking forward to the Champs League Final and because I am outnumbered I'll have to watch that rather than the undercard (which I'm not too bothered about as I'm a massive footy fan too and dont think the undercard is upto much)....

Hopefully not, I want this to flop badly, it shouldn't be PPV.

think it will be a huge success, 'know of three seperate groups of mates having fight parties who normally show very little interest. First time since Hatton-May...not saying its anywhere near that big but the casual interest has definitely been caught...bank holiday weekend probably a big factor

Thats your experience, but not mine.....nobody who isn't into boxing has said anything to me at all about the fight....there has been more noise made about Audley coming out of retirement

yep fair enough mate, be interesting to see what others say, impossible to gauge from just your own peer group

I wouldn't go that far, if Eddie did go out of business then no fighter would get paid.

i think it is, out of the 17 people (inc me) i know going to the fight I'd class 4 as proper boxing fans, 2 as part time boxing fans and the rest (to my annoyance) as bandwagon jumping casuals

I would say he's getting the casuals involved, most of my mates who rarely watch boxing are really hyped up for it
