Except this is a thread about his comments, not his record. Legend? Depends on your criteria. Warrior? Yeah he can say whatever he wants. People can also say that his comments are classless. I don't think anyone is losing sleep over this. Just pointing out it's a poor comment to make. So what if it's boxing? You can sell a fight without it.
That's a bit OTT. Kessler's a good bloke. Would have preferred Froch to have kept it civil. "Two proud warriors going to war" and all that guff.
What happens if he does kill him....Whatever your stance is on Froch, that was a piece of disgusting ****....and worse, Tony Bellew level hyperbole
I don't really give a toss what fighters do to hype fights but in this instance Bellew's "willing to die stuff" and now this Froch outburst rather uncomfortably bookends the Norgrove tragedy.
So why did Ishy bother making the thread? Theres already been 100 threads this month with people upset at things Froch has said. They got boring after the 2nd one. They replaced the 100 posts you usually get each month about boxing having no profile and getting no press. Controversy sells. Everybody knows this. Biggest fight last year for Haye v Chisora. Biggest fight the year before that was Haye v Klitskco, Haye wore a T shirt with his decapitated head, the year before that Haye v Klitskco was going to be a gang ****. This is boxing. Really if you are that offended by this kind of thing.....try Tennis.
If God forbid Kessler was to die on Saturday night, anybody bringing up Froch's comments would be a twat. Fighters say things. They have said allot worse. I would personally say using PED's and loading your gloves, dirty tactics from promoters like putting them into a **** hotel so they don't get a proper nights sleep before a fight, ad******g scales...etc etc the list goes on is FAR FAR worse than words. These things can actually cause a fighter to be killed.
This is a fair point, similar to when Hatton was doing the throat slitting signs against Mayweather....I don't remember people being outraged by that.

Most of that is just banter you soft ****. Stop being butthurt just 'cause Froch is one of your favorite fighters. Carl's vocabulary doesn't seem to stretch further than "warrior" and "consummate professional". People are going to take the ****. This is different 'cause it's a poor comment. No one is denying this. Chisora/Haye was huge fight but most people would agree that Chisora is a ****, right? So why do you have a problem with people saying Froch's comment was in bad taste? Like Ice said, what if he did kill him? How would it look? Tragedies happen in the ring, they're a sad part of the sport and this kind of talk shouldn't be used to hype a fight up. and like I said, who's losing sleep over it? Saying something is in bad taste doesn't mean people are going to write letters of complaint to Carl, asking him to apologize for his comments. I think most do accept this is a part of boxing, but it seems you're the one that can't accept people thinking the comment was in bad taste.
If that was the case, A great poster like Ishy wouldnt have botherd making a thread about it. I think Chisora is a **** because he actually hits women, spits at people and has done some other horrible things we won't talk about. Froch has just said something stupid. There is a big difference.
I made the thread cos it seemed like a very un-Froch like thing to say. This is what Kevin Mitchell has to say about it in the Guardian: This is David Haye-style rhetoric. In all the years I have watched Froch box – from the night he won the ABA middleweight title 14 years ago, through a score of wars as a professional, I have never heard him talk like this.
Froch at the press conference "I want to know that his opponent is going to do some serious damage, not to serious because I actually like the guy, something he can walk away from."
Have always thought the pressure of a huge fight could get to Froch. He has been in allot of big fights but this is the biggest by a stretch.
