I'm not saying Froch is a ****. Just that his comment was unnecessary. It's not a huge deal, but just not good taste. If Pacquiao had said the same thing I'd be disappointed too but wouldn't stop supporting him.
Regardless of what you think, the vast majority of right minded people would find those comments disgusting, completely ill advised and inappropriate. I just don't agree with your first sentence, if it does happen Froch should have it shoved in his face for the rest of his days.
Like you said, this could be his Hatton throat slitting-gesture moment. Or Eddie has asked him to say something really controversial to give them a few headlines. I still think they're quite crass comments to make. Something like "Enough of the niceties, I'm going to smash this ****er up Saturday night!" would have sufficed
What a horrible statement to make that is. Froch's true colors have come out there, they really really have. I thought there was professional respect and a friendship between Carl and Mikkel. But Carl has let it all out here and I for one hope Kessler makes him pay for that. I honestly thought Carl was better than that! Disgusting thing to say. Carl is getting excited and saying things he will regret. They say "drink loosens the tongue", it seems the closer the fight gets Carl is showing everyone who he REALLY is. What a nob! WAR KESSLER
You have been married for a good few years Ice. I would imagine there have been times where you have said some things to your wife you didn't mean. or to your parents & siblings, even your kids. If after those comments one of them got run over by a bus, would you think it be fair for that to be shoved in your face for the rest of your life? People say things.
Froch still needs to fight a tactical fight the first half. If he gets to careless Kessler can capitalize. Froch is well up for this, but I wouldn't write Kessler off. We know talk is cheap. We heard the same from Haye and he was schooled. I wouldn't read into statements like these to much. Anything can happen.
He was talking to some of the newspaper journos afterwards. Gareth A Davies and Kevin Mitchell both have the quote.
Froch recalled the night in Denmark when he lost so agonisingly for the first time a defeat that has driven him on ever since. He remembered: I had to watch Kessler strap my WBC belt around his waist. I had to watch his promoter Kalle Sauerland shaking his head like a lunatic with his hair falling all over the place and salivating around his mouth, hugging him. I have seen all of that on video and it makes my blood boil. It makes me feel sick. It does something to me. So when I get in that ring on Saturday and look across at him and his promoter, I can tell you I am already in the mood. This is personal." :rofl
They certainly do and this shows a lot about Carl and the current situation. Its getting to him and he is saying things that Kessler could shove down his throat. You should never wish death or want to kill anybody in this sport. To say something like that? I dont think you can go any lower at all! Bottom of the barrel that Rob. Totally uncalled for. No two ways about it.
Watched Froch and Kessler speak at the press conference and Kessler seems more at ease with himself and seemed more comfortable at the stare down. I know we often can't read anything into this stuff but I just got the impression Froch is almost over the edge on this one. The 'warrior' stuff is mocked all the time here, but when somebody keeps saying something over and over you wonder what's actually going through his head. By contrast Kessler has mostly mentioned 'tactics'. McCracken was also clearly having trouble getting Froch to move after delivering his punches to avoid getting countered on the behind the scenes prog last night. Froch still looks fit, strong and immensely tough but Kessler's mind seems clearer at the mo. Hope Froch isn't getting himself over hyped-up here cos Kessler can still pick his shots, particularly if he doesn't oblige in a tear-up as much he did the last time.
People do say things Rob, but not like that....If you say that you are prepared to kill someone that takes it to another level because of the nature of the sport. If it was football or golf it would be a throw away comment, but men do die in the ring. If this is a marketing ploy then its tacky and very unfortunate, lets hope that Froch doesn't live to regret his loose mouth.
