Muhammad Ali .Vs. Evander Holyfield

A true test for Ali, but somewhere in the fight Ali figures Evander out.

 

Evander is the type of guy that would give Ali a rough night, expect a series like Ali had with Norton all close

 

I can't see Holyfield being quite as big a problem for Ali as Norton was.

 

In a fifteen round fight, Muhammad Ali wins a decision by about ten rounds to five. Evander gives him some trouble from time to time, but at the end of the day Ali was just too fast and skilled.

None of the three qualify as tougher than Ali.

Ali had a better chin than Lennox, better stamina than Bowe and better heart than Tyson.

Ali was tougher than any of the three.


Besides, Bowe won his series with Evander, and Lennox beat him twice.

The only name of the three he has there is post-prison Tyson, who, in his prime would have destroyed him.

 

I think people are kinda selling evander short here.. I think he has a pretty good shot to win.

 

There is an intangible to Holyfield which people never mention, and never mention in boxing much. Some fighters fight better with it than others. That is fighting as the underdog.
Evander Holyfiedl did great at it, and against Ali I think his jab is underrated and so is his speed and it would surprise everyone how well he does. I think he has a chance with the 1974 Ali and older, or the first Frazier Ali, but the one 1972-1974 would be tough. Remember, Ali was not the huge heavyweights we know of today like the Klitchkos or even Bowe or Lennox, whom he could hang with, and the Evander of 1992 or 1993 got a little bigger and could do well with Ali in size and speed. Ali's handspeed would be a problem, but that is where Evander's double jab would be a good punch. Just saying, this is not a mismatch and I think Evander has a chance if he used his underrated jab and doubled up with it and threw the right and also that left hook to the body which he could land. The left hook wouldn't be much of a factor, but it would keep Ali thinking. We know what Ali woud be doing, but Evander underrated jab could slow Ali's movement and momentum and handspeed and open Ali up to some of Evander's punches. We know the punch which would be Evander's biggest problem. Ali's right hand. Obviously the edge is to Ali SD Holyfield. But I am saying, not sure on this one. And I do think Evander stops Frazier. And Norton? I pick Holyfield. Young Foreman? I pick Foreman.

 

Take into consideration this. Evander was a small heavyweight fighting the first big heavyweights like Bowe and Lennox, and fought Foreman. Compared to those guys, Ali was not huge. Ali was 6-3 and Evander is 6-2 1/2. It is a great fight and the only fear I would have for Evander is that Ali would make him look a little robotic, but Evander's double jab was great. He worked it well against Bowe and Lennox at times and it was hard.

 

This will be a tougher night for Ali than most think
One thing never mentioned is Holyfields underrated left hook, a punch Ali was vulnerable too. With his left hook Holyfield has dropped Bowe, Mercer and Tyson (Tysons only one punch KD of his career), he also rocked Foreman to his boots with a left hook

 

Ali by decision, holy would give him problems but Holyfield ultimately lacks the power to beat ali
