You know nothing about box. Nothing...You're trawling through the internet reading up on former ATG's and pitting them in a losing battle against K2 to gain attention just to fill a little the gap in your sad empty existence...

THE OBVIOUS CHOICE WOULD BE THE ONE WITH AN OVERWHELMING LEAD IN THE POLL. Face it you're in the vast minority in thinking either Klitschko stands a chance vs a fluid HW the caliber of Ali! Fluidity trumps roboticness even with a size advantage. Klitschko's would barely touch him and when they did it ain't gonna faze the man who took bombs from prime George Foreman.

Fascinating, Ali beat Prime Foreman for the Championship, which Foreman regained 20 years later. That pretty much disproves the theory that old school fighters couldn't compete in newer eras.

I wonder if any Wlad victims will win the title in 2033?:think

Yeah Mariusz Wach is the champion of the future. His rangefinder jab has felled many an American contender!

#1 Ali was from from Feather fisted.
#2 Ali put Foreman down for 8 seconds and that was from extreme exhasution.

    Learn a little.

Foreman had a solid chin. Shannon Briggs has the wolrd record for 1st round KO's in heavyweight boxing and he couldnt hurt a nearly 50 year old Foreman AT ALL.

Holyfield hit Foreman with 15 shots flush on the chin and didnt drop him.

Foreman got off the deck twice after taking Lyle bombs.

Watch his fight against Cleveland Williams and tell me that Ali couldn't hit hard. The biggest advantage that Wladimir has over his opponents is that he has a tremendous size and reach advantage, this is not the case against Ali, who is 6'3 with 80" reach. Ali is tall enough to reach Wladimir's chin and Ali is also much faster then the robotic Wladimir, who only has handspeed. And Ali is big enough to box circles against Vlad.

Timing is everything. 90s was a weak era. Foreman seized the opportunity for comeback.

I think Wlad would have struggled in the 90's.

That post is so deluded its breathtaking.
"The trainers of today have only added to the knowledge of previous generations" & "The feints, elaborate combos etc are now reduntant because fighters have mastered keeping opponents at range." And to say all the legend Frazier did was "swarm"...well..
Says who exactly my friend? Have you actually fought or even trained in your local pro gym? Tell me who agrees with you?
I dealt in cold hard facts. Facts backed up by your aforementioned Emmanuel Steward and most of the top trainers around, EVEN TODAY. When the "redundant" skills are actioned (Mayweather, Hopkins etc) they end up dominating the opponent.
I suggest you stop creating Straw Man theories about me as if I have some emotional attachment to an era I wasn't even born in. I have no affiliation with the past generations.
I am simply being 100% objective but happen to totally disagree with just about everything you posted.
More importantly stop pretending to be knowledgable on both sides of the argument and actually read the articles by all these emminent trainers you quoted. A good start is "The Arc of Boxing by Mike Silver".
In that book alone are literally dozens and dozens of articles and quotes VERBATUM from Manny Steward and most of the world's elite trainers from the past and (more importantly in your case) the current.
THEIR beliefs (not just mine) may just surprise you.
I'll give you a hint fella, they don't agree with you..:hi:

This honestly stinks. This post stinks. I sense you are someone from classic.. btw that post is just dumb and doesn't answer anything.

Mercer is a modern athlete and not considered old school by your OWN SET OF STANDARDS you moron.

Moorer out boxing Foreman for rounds so you MUST CONCLUDE it was lucky? His tactics were that, taking a beating, let the fighter tire himself out then smash him to take the crown back......sorta like Ali did vs Foreman;the guy who state is "

"if they tried to fight less cautious like in the old days they'd be KO'd" Your words. Wladimir is a cautious as they come..Did you forget what you were arguing?

"moronic..comparison of old school boxing to modern boxing in general" Yet the example I have given of Larry Holmes and George Foreman make that statement moronic. There's no special exemption to the rule because the only fighters who it are the only two older timers who came back.

So with age comes experience? I agree somewhat. Most of the GOAT primes were when they were young. Mercer, according to you, should have been too mordern especially since Larry Holmes "tried to fight cautious he'd be KO'd" but when you forget a old timer actually did what you said you put it down to experience? Larry was 42..42 and fat and slow. Roy Jones jr should be on top then.
