This is indeed where one would hope intelligent posters would gravitate towards. I'm a huge, huge, fan of both fighters and the fight could go either way. If forced to bet, I'd bet on Lewis, but Foreman winning would be no surprise at all. And while I respect those who think Foreman would win, this notion that Lewis had a pawing jab goes against what I just saw the other day when I again watched the Klitschko fight. He jab was literally stopping Vitali in his tracks. His chin was also very good, unless you assume Vitali had hardly any punching power at all.

Being knocked down is quite different than being koed. Lewis was koed by single punches from two very ordinary fighters. Name another all time great hvwt that was koed in like manner by such low opposition. In contrast Foreman was only stopped once in some 80 bouts and that was against Ali. No comparison in terms of chins...George a clear winner in this category.

The punches that ended Lewis would have ended many HW greats. It's not like he got hit with ordinary-looking punches; he got hammered with clean, enormous shots in both cases.

When Foreman got hit with similar punches (clean, full-power shots from a puncher) he went down too.

Lewis fought MANY more dangerous punchers and took them out.

Lewis also had superior defense in terms of blocking, tieing up, and moving out of the way. George had defense a hair above zero.

That's the difference here, I think.

this, i could not say IT better. Ali was knocked down by a natural 180s pounder in cooper and nobody never disputed the great chin of ali... Of course that foreman had by far better chin than lewis and teddy atlas said it also in an interview, and he knows the boxing better than this puppet

he never got knocked out cleanly by a single shot, a knock down is not a knock out.

See also: the second Rahman fight. Lewis was so sharp with his jab in that one, it was a pleasure to watch.

I think Lewis has an easier time than people suspect. He would have to be alert every second of every round he's in there, as Foreman hits like a truck and could theoretically take him out with one punch, but I feel that Lewis' blend of size, skill and power win him the day here.

I think most people who were old enough to watch them both and didn't base their opinions solely on the two Lewis losses would arrive at the same conclussion. If I were to put odds on this fight it would be 55-45 for Lewis, and a Foreman KO wouldn't be much of an upset at all.

    And Foreman wasn't Bruno.

Or do you think Foreman would box Mccall for 12 rounds?
Also Bruno barely got out of it with all his holding.

    Foreman was levels above Bruno

Bruno had bad stamina, poor recuperation skills and very little survival skills, hence why he was stopped everytime he stepped up. The only guy who couldnt finish him was Mcall.

Foreman wouldnt need to box, he would batter Mcall for 12 rounds, its not like Mcall is some sort of elusive, defensive wizard.

Mcall is not Ali, he is Oliver Mcall who landed a good punch and got lucky against a guy, who we now know always had a bit of a dodgy chin (Lewis), Rahman also repeated the feat so that takes away the shine on Mcalls victory a little bit

yes, you right, foreman was not bruno, he was stronger, harder puncher much tougher and he was an all time great and bruno was a bunch of crap next to him ... yes he was not bruno. he would stop mccall against the ropes..
