    Good one. How many rounds? What version of Hopkins? I assume we are talking the best version of Langford who was fighting the heavies.

    My first impression is that Sam destroys him but I'm willing to reconsider based on the above criteria.

    Yes,that version of Langford.


    For Hopkins,the best incarnation of him that fought between 170-175 lbs.

    Bernard can't spoil fast enough for long enough. Sam sparks him at some point early or late. I had entertained the distance of the fight having an effect but I think Sam just packs too much power and too much doggedness. It could be early or late.

    Everyone, every heavyweight, who fought Sam and bothered to comment on his power said he hit like a ton of bricks, many saying he was the hardest hitter they had faced. And given his record, it's obvious that he knew how to apply this power. That's just too much pop for Hopkins to absorb.

    I think the key to beating Sam was height, length and a quick jab. And even that did not always work.
