Dude, Floyd had been calling out Oscar and shane for YEARS! And yes past his prime, but a MUCH better than the version of Oscar that Pac fought. When Floyd beat Oscar, I would've given Oscar a chance to beat any 154lber and 147lber in the world. A good chance.

Do you honestly believe Cotto/Margo/Clottey had a chance to ever beat Mayweather? Come on dude. And if so, please explain and breakdown in what areas Cotto had declined by the time he fought Mayweather. Because from what I saw, after the Margo beatdown, Cotto's problem was in his head. And by the time Mayweather did fight him, he appeared to have that all worked out. He had beaten Margo and gotten his confidence back. He definitely fought Mayweather with determination and heart, never backpeddled at all actually. I seriously believe Mayweather beat as good a version of Cotto as there ever was. And this is from watching Cotto fight that night. He had all his speed, more power, his reflexes, his deterimination.

Margarito DID NOT have an easier time with Cotto, then Mayweather did. Margo took a beating in that fight as well. That is just a false statement. And Mayweather's struggles were blown out of proportion. At no moment in that fight did it look like Cotto was in control.

Mosley hadn't done much, but he did show that he was still capable of destroying one of the top fighters in the division, and then he was given one of the biggest fights of his career.....which I'm sure compounded his already high confidence and motivation coming off one of his best victories. And to be honest, he could've arguably been given the decision against Cotto. Mosley didn't really show his decline until after Mayweather really. He looked like complete **** in the fights after Mayweather. :deal

I like Oscar, but the guy lost too many of his big fights to ranked over Floyd.

Not screaming mother****er I'm owning and pointing out the fundamental problem you have with PBF and his fans. Read it again it owns you.:deal:lol::rofl

Defense wins championships that's all that really needs to be said. It's the reason why guys like JMM say PBF is a mother****er and so do his fellow fighters. You know it as well and hate guys like PBF for it and it keeps you up at night and raises your blood pressure because of it. That's why you call guys like PBF runners and pussies and if Pea Whitaker was active today you'd do the same with him as well. Defense wins over these styles and it's been proven time and time again. Learn to accept that fact and move on you'll be able to sleep at night if you do. Or you'll continue to come on internet forums being on the losing side and bash the fighters who practice it and the fans of those fighters who do.

The reason it's that way is because the OP keeps necroposting after it dies out so people start another argument.

Sugar Ray Leonard has stated on camera that Floyd Mayweather would be at the top of his weightclass in ANY ERA of boxing. :deal

So what ACTUALLY could've been exposed that night, and throughout Oscars career, is that Oscar could give any top fighter a great fight at 147 or 154 in any era of boxing.

No Floyd fans wants to answer my question I see. Put Floyd in Oscars shoes in 1999. Does Floyd move up and take on the fighters Oscar did.

It is the funniest thing when people can praise Floyd's performance over Carlos Baldomir yet act like Oscar outboxing Trinidad was nothing special.

Smart man! I have recently come to respect Oscar more in his retirement than I did when he was active. I agree that he was great for the sport but he's not a better fighter than PBF is period. His fans seem to have a hard time realizing that. Loses don't enhance your resume, it really can't be explained any other way. With that said I really mniss the old ESB days guys like you Isal Jack Presscot Trouble Lurks Radar Widdow going at it all day. Those were the days!

i remember the Quartey fight, coming the last round everyone knew DLH needed the KO to win, no just drop him but stop him. Ike won 7 rds. It was a robbery? maybe not, but neither was his fight against Tito or Mosley2( and i believe DLH won both)

Mayweather may rank higher than Oscar, but Pacquaio , the unprecedented 8 weight division world champion, a man who has passed through more than half the weight classes in boxing currently ranks higher than both of them.

That is a fact friends, what can Floyd now do to match that ?

Oscar de la hoya would have taken any of the fights Floyd dodged- hell he even took the pac fight !

De La Hoya had heart and loved to challenge himself. Oscar went up a 6th weight class and fought Bhop of all people.

He started the same weight as floyd. Floyd wont dare go near a middleweight, even though I think he can beat martinez quite easily with the boxing skill-> but the man wont take the fight cause it could blemish the zero.

Thats not what boxing should be about.

We need fighters like de la hoya and holyfield, guys that go up against it. Even if the odds are against them- guys that aint afraid to take a challenge even if its a potential loss.

This Floyd era of excuses for avoiding fights is disgusting !
