Well, I guess it says something about Oscar that he's taking Floyd tooth and nail, heading for 1000 replies on an ATG debate against him.

This is approaching life and death.

No. Oscar actually accomplished something at the weight. Shane really hasn't done anything at 154. He "beat" Oscar then got spanked by Winky twice. Vargas was done by the time Mosley got to him.

And the trend continues, Floyd's most ardent supporters stamping their feet and demanding who it was Oscar beat that was so damn great, and yet page after page, they still avoid taking Floyd's resume and trying to stack it up as a better collection of wins than the one's Oscar has.

Yes but Winky is a huge 154 lb'er. No shame in losing to Winky at 154. Oscar most likely would've lost to Winky as well, but he did offer to fight him tripling Wink's highest payday. :smoke

These guys are small compared to natural 154 lb'ers...people forget that. Just look at the size of Vargas to oscar :nut

I'm waiting for my lunch so I might as well play devil's advocate. The thing is, there are too many holes in Floyd's resume to go untouched, or at least...untrolled :yep

    War Oscar :hammertime

Oscar taking on Trinidad in 99 is greater then anything Floyd has ever, or will ever do. People talk about how he came up short, but the night of that fight the commentators were stunned at what Oscar was doing to Trinidad.

Floyd had his chance to build his legacy when Pacquiao was primed and ready to go. Floyd saw something in Pac that scared the **** out of him and the fight didn't happen.

With ODH we will always have his great fights to look back on. With Floyd, it will always be, oh he would have beaten Pac, or Margarito, or Cotto, or Clottey easily. I mean, just look at what he did to Guerrero. Sad.

    :yep

The Whitaker Oscar fought beats every one of Floyd's competitors. It wouldn't be close.

Oscar should've made Mosley do random testing.

Oscar was pumped for the Trinidad fight post fight against Carr.

Floyd wasn't sure whether or not he wanted to call out any welterweights after he beat up Hatton.

There is to much of a difference of opinion. Oscar fans can add Whitaker, Chavez, Tito, Mosley, and Vargas. Then Floyd fans would just say he lost to Whitaker, Chavez was old, etc. Then if Floyd fans wanted to say even more then they could mention how Oscar was criticized for moving guys up in weight to fight him. Like I said in this thread before, Floyd's longevity being viewed as one of the best fighters is why I rate him over Oscar. Plus Floyd's career is not over so he can expand on that. That is why I disagree with the title of this thread. Floyd's career is not over to say that.

-Has nothing to do with being a fan. Oscar has wins over Ruelas, Hernandez, Chavez, Whitaker, Vargas, Quartey, Sturm etc. Was beating P4P'ers by his 21st pro fight.

-Mosley cheated and was on enhancers, this is fact, if you want to hold the losses against Oscar then that's you and you can hold it against him.

-Floyd has a longer title reign. He DID miss out on his biggest tests (the tests Oscar took no problem, sometimes while recording a ****ing music album) but he is more consistent in beating his opponents. ATG or not.

    - Floyd beat Oscar. Whatever, he did. Rate the win how you like, it's a top 5 Mayweather win IMO

    - How many points do you take away from Floyd for retiring for 2 years, not wanting to fight welterweights?

We wouldn't be having this discussion had Floyd not kick Oscar's ass.

Kicked Oscars ass? Do Floyd fans watch that fight and actually get impressed. He got a split decision...

I understand that but when I look at a fighters resume, I factor in what that fighter accomplished at that weight. For example, Andre Ward is one of my favorite fighters but I didn't like how he fought Dawson at 168. Dawson has done nothing at 168. I have a similar feeling towards Oscar vs Mosley. Obviously Mosley did more than Dawson but Mosley really didn't beat anyone at 154.

 Yeah Oscar looked extremely small in that fight.
