So is the Froch v Kessler PPV going to be a success or a flop?

Someone on twitter said that he rang sky up to book it and the women on the phone said it's the busiest they've been in ages for a boxing event. I think this could be a big success.

 

It's been marketed brilliantly. Everyone I know is tuning in. I think it could actually be one of the top uk ppv's ever.

They have promoted the **** out of it. It should be a success. I'll not be a paying customer though.

 

Mmmm very interesting but the last PPV Sky did was Haye-Klitschko and there's NO WAY Kessler-Froch comes close to selling more then that fight.

I think SKY would see 250,000 PPV's sold as a success, he may come near to that figure.

 

Part of me wants it to be a success however if it is a massive success i have a feeling it might be the start of the ppv era again which i dont think should happen.

 

I'm with you here. But if its the start of the best fighting the best with cracking under cards, I'm all for it.

 

I think it will do good numbers,but it`s also important that the fight is good so people don`t feel ripped like they did for Haye-Harrison when they got alott of grief because it didn`t live up to the hype even though Khan-Salita was just as bad but had less hype and less buys and the media didn`t go overboard.Like I have said before compared to the majority of ppvs in the past this is a very good main event and not just a star v a nobody like Haye-Ruiz and Hatton-Lazcaro.Would of liked more depth on the undercard though

But it's not a cracking under-card. I hope it crashes and burns as a PPV, but little chance of that anyways.

I think it will do well. It has a great lead in as well from the football. Adverts during that game will generate some great fight night buys.

 

big fights yes, big names fighting not big names no e.g. haye title reign should not have been ppv. i could think of maybe 5ppv fights tops.

 

I agree the undercard is not the best but I'm hoping future ppv's will improve.

 

Personally I don't begrudge paying £15 for this type of fight it's a genuine 50/50, it's when Sky had the cheek to charge £15 for Khan British Level fights and fights such as Haye/Harrison which bothered me

Part of me wants me to do this PPV do well because I'm glad Carl has this platform given to him etc but at the same time I hope numbers flop because I'd hate to see the return of SBO for regular fights, as I said I don;t have a problem paying for big fights
