Name fighters who convincingly beat someone and got accused of not rematching

My sports pet peeve is someone who comes out of a loss and immediately says they want a rematch.

If you have the guy in the ring in front of you and you can do something to win, DO IT THEN -- not come up with some lame line about how next time it's going to be different. If that's the case, adjust while you have the chance.

I think he beats Froch again but the bottom line is,Froch is the draw in that division,and most Americans would probably prefer to watch a Froch fight.

Yeah, I never remember English fans calling for Mayweather to rematch Hatton in England.

This current Ward obbession on ESB is strange.

Everyone says hes boring and no one cares about him, yet ESB has a wall full of threads all about him!

 

That's because Ricky did nothing of note subsequently to deserve a rematch. Furthermore Carl was a champion himself when he travelled to the States to take on Ward - would it really be so bad if Ward displayed the same willingness and returned the favour?

And before anybody points out that Froch and Kessler had to travel, i'd like to point out that is nonsense. Both of them could've refused to enter the Super Six and defended their respective titles at home - but they both displayed a champion's mentality in their willingness to risk all.

 

That's because we're mostly all hardcore boxing fans,and most of the threads are started by Ward fans who are angry that they're sitting outside of the party that really matters in terms of entertainment.
I've said umpteen times that outside of hardcore boxing fans,no one cares about Ward,especially in his own country.
And try to bear in mind,I became a fan of Ward AFTER he fought Froch,and although I knew Floyd was a magnificent fighter,I only became a real fan in the build up to the Hatton fight,so my points are based on the hate that Froch is getting.Nothing else.

There's not much else for Ward at 168. Froch exposed Bute and Bute is injured and/or in the match with Pascal anyway. Kessler just got beaten by Froch and may retire. Stieglitz is another option for Ward or to wait for Chavez Jr to come up, but which would create more excitement/money/respect: A win over Froch 2 or a win over Stieglitz? Froch is rightfully the number 1 contender and top 10 p4p in many peoples lists. If Ward was the first to beat Froch in the UK it would be a good scalp on his resume and he would get respect from many critics for travelling. And there's no reason why he wouldn't school Froch again, so I think there is a lot to be gained for Ward to fight Froch in the UK.

To froch vs ward, for some reason they believed froch was robbed or would do better at home. Ward > froch anywhere, but its a fight people seem to want to see again.

 

Could understand if it was an immediate rematch were talking about but Froch has went and earned 2 world class victories to put himself in line for a rematch.
