Firstly, if anyone deserves respect, adulation & recognition from the Public it's Carl Froch. I don't begrudge him that at all & I hope he laps it all up because he earned it..

Part of me however can't help but think "where the **** have all these so called fans been?"

How many stayed up late to watch Froch v Taylor on ITV delay? Or how many bought the online stream for Froch v Kessler 1.

Even Froch v Bute didn't have this kind of attention..... I said a few months back that Matchroom were waging a very clever but subconscious marketing campaign. They were making sports fans feel silly & inadequate for ignoring Carl Froch. Carl was niche & cult so if you followed him you were clued up, if you didn't then more shame on you.

    Worked a treat I reckon

I am really glad he is getting it. It always seemed to me he absolutely craved the respect he deserved and couldn't understand why he wasn't getting it. He doesn't strike me as the type who wants the celebrity life just respect.

It is annoying like when every ****er comes out of the woodwork acting like they are the boxers biggest fans but I suppose it is just confirming he is becoming alot more popular.

Indeed. So it seems a shame that the fight was PPV rather than on normal Sky and thereby limiting the audience.

It's funny when HBO do the "pan to the crowd" thing.

You've got Stallone, P Diddy, Mark Walberg & a whole host of mega stars... When SBO did it we had Shane Richie & Lee Evens pulling funny faces

    Annoyed?????

    No.

Been watching Froch from like 2004/05 on Sky Friday Fight Night boxing and for him to be getting recognized he deserves it.

I don't know if they actually planned it or it happened by default. But it definitely worked.

  15. Anyone would think Sky were a multi billion pound organization that can afford to pay for the best marketing people out there
