Yes, lewis proved his chin against big guys, not little cruisers.. He did not have a great iron chin but he was proved. AND OF COURSE HIS HITTING POWER IS BY FAR MORE TESTED THAN LISON“S AGAINST FULL SIZED HWS.

Liston has the better jab, the better inside game, better
punch repertoire. Lewis has the right hand and uppercut
To do serious damage. Liston proved his chin against Williams.
Lewis has a good chin, but could be KOed with one punch.
Competitive fight. Lewis best strategy imo is to try and go
For the early KO, because Liston would outjab Lewis and
Unload on the inside. I believe Liston has an iron chin but
Lewis was scary when he came out agressive ala Golota
Ruddock. Liston was to technical and too powerful, Liston
    KO 6.

Makes me laugh too, the way Lewis got outjabbed by the
ghost of Mike Tyson in the first round, who had a 72 inch reach.
Wonder what Liston would do. Foreman commented that Williams,
Lyle, and Cooney were the hardest punchers he faced. So Liston
Survived a lot of flush shots from an elite puncher in Williams.
It was on the Letterman show I believe.

wow great argument .then you agree also with foreman when he rated lyle, cooney and williams at harder punchers than liston right?

Thank you, it was a great argument considering I was talking
about Liston's chin. Ok Foreman didnt mention Liston, perhaps
because they didnt spar as much or perhaps Foreman wasnt impressed
with Liston's power. However most fighters and historians would rate
Liston's power as elite, enough to put Lewis on ice. Liston had good
technique that would serve him well. Have to say Ali fights aside Liston
was smarter. You don't leave your hands down and bounce against the ropes
when facing a top 10 contender wuth a right hand. Theres cockiness and arrogance,
and theres stupidity. I know I know, Liston is no Rahaman!

Liston did not conclusively have a better chin than Lewis. BS argument.

I'd say they're around the same.

Possibly, possibly not. Lewis proved his chin against a heavier breed of hitters than Liston, and never dropped from a shot like the one Ali landed on him, nor knocked completely unconscious like he was against Martin.

I believe Lewis has a great chin, he did neutralize
most heavy hitters before they got off though.

I don't hold Liston's ko loss to Martin against him, given that he was washed-up and gassed out.

Lewis has been wobbled by less than impressive punches too many times for me to say he had a "good" chin.

What less than impressive punches? And from whom?

And how many times did he go down from those shots?

I'd have to rewatch his fights to give you specific names, but I can remember seeing him badly hurt on numerous occasions. This mostly comes from the pre-Stewart Lewis.

The only people who badly hurt him were huge punchers with insane knockout percentages. I don't think that reflects too badly on him, do you?
