Look let's be realistic here. Wlad/Vitali/Lewis would dominate any era of HW boxing

    Well if you suddenly can make a time machine and bring people back from the past to the present then there are a few things you have to thnk about;

First off, the modern day nutrition and training things you can't really take into consideration. If you are thinking of a matchup between greats from different eras you have to imagine them having acess to the same training equipment otherwise it's not fair.

Their size and reach is one thing but the training thing is utter bull**** tbh.

By far.. people forget that Wlad also had horrendous stamina issues... who the hell knows if he still does? Nobody has pushed him to the limit the way Ali would.. Wladimir is the only Heavyweight ATG who lost to an actual journeyman.

If you look at the records. Douglas.Spinks.Rahman.Mccall. None of them were 'journeyman' in the real sense of the word. They were all Average/Good fighters.. very good on their best days.

Ross Purrity is 30-23 or something. That's actually a journeyman.

    Dino,

I've just read the links, thanks.

Manny said that he thought Chisora was a big threat. Then obviously Wlad pulled out for the second time, apparently with a reoccurrence of his original injury.

So you obviously believe that he wasn't genuinely injured, and Manny had talked him out of it?

If that's what really happened, that's unbelievable!

    I agree entirely.

Obviously any fighter can get caught, but it's happened to Wlad three times, and Sam Peter had him all over the place aswell.

I think he's seriously overrated, and there's nothing to suggest that he could have coped with Ali's footwork.

The first time he pulled out was two days before the fight , his camp was finished so he couldn't of gotten an injury.
Dell boy would of pushed and brawled him out of confort zone. I thought it was a good fight at the time and was looking forward to it. Wlad would of had a handfull so they didn't take the risk.
This is why he wont fight Povektin. Same styles only Alex excels in evey department. Shameful imo.

What did you think of the fight last night? Lots of people around the bar who dont watch box were loving it. Good fight.

Not in this era he ain't. I would give Haye a solid chance to knock Lewis out cold.

I´m a big fan of the brothers but I disagree with this thread.

Wlad and Vitali would at least present a danger to any heavyweight of any era but saying they would dominate any era is bit far fetched. I don´t see why they would dominate boxers like Lennox Lewis, Mike Tyson, Riddick Bowe, Evander Holyfield, Muhammad Ali, George Foreman or Larry Holmes.

Now I totally agree that the old timers like Marciano, Joe Louis, Jack Johnson etc. would probably get beaten by the Klitschkos (or Lewis, Tyson, Foreman etc.) but that´s because they were in eras where training methods were more primitive less PIDs and many of them were just too small (would be light heavyweights or cruiserweights today).

They're currently arguing about a drug test I believe?

It was a good fight, loads of missed shots though, but it was to be expected. It was entertaining, but it didn't warrant the £15 PPV in my opinion.

They've got to either reduce the cost, or put 4 or 5 quality fights on the undercard. The Bellew fight was awful. I know Chilemba was looking to spoil, but I don't rate Bellew at all. There's no way he beats Chad Dawson, if Chad's motivated and in proper shape.

George Groves really impressed me last night. He looked strong and really sharp. He looks to be improving all the time.

Haye won 1 round against Lewis Lite. Against the real Version he will die.

Based on what? The world beaters on the Klits resumes? Wlad would get KTFO against the greats in a lot of Eras. Vitali lost to the best 2 fighters he faced, and if Lennox can get starched by Rahman I'm sure the greats of others can do it as well. I totally disagree.

Lewis lost rounds to lesser fighters than Haye.
