Crolla won't beat Rees. Crolla has gone back with his style the way Joe wants him to fight, I don't give Crolla any chance of beating Burns not even a small chance

  3. But you have to give crolla the benefit of doubt when judging his performances regarding a step up in class
When Ricky lost 2 fights early in his career and held the commonwealth title, people didn't think he would be able to make the step up to world level
Maybe Gallagher believes that crollas failings against Derry Matthews were due to his height and strength something that will be equaled out against Rees

Still looking forward to it it's going to be entertaining as is coyle Matthews which could be spicy

Laryea, Mitchell, Nicky Cook with a broken back, shot Katsidis, Evenson, not one of them is above the level I mentioned.

Martinez was a great win and Gonzalez schooled him before something went off.

Yes,mate, its a really good fight.Crollas best opponent.I only slightly favour Rees, its near 50 50 as dammit. Also the other one you mention.Must admit,I liked Burns early career, was a bit surprised at the Johanneson loss, although a hell of a tough guy.Arthur not so much,Burns gave a better account of himself also.Im sure, though,at HIS best,he'd beat both at their best.Cant see Crolla making that kind of improvement, though.

It would be a huge mistake Crolla moving down to Super Feather. A lot of big punchers at that weight and feel Crolla would be a little weight drained. Crolla is a good British level operator at lightweight. Should work hard and try and get that title. Shouldn't be talking about Ricky. Any news on an announcement for September Billy

  7. Super feather is a good division isn't it
Buckland, walsh, foster jnr,Stephen smith,Simpson and Sykes who has beat him twice
But as much as I would love to see crolla in with any of them your point about being drained could be a valid point
After all he has put in some impressive performances at lightweight, definitely the best of his career
I see Rees crolla as a legitimately competitive scrap and I'm sure billy is right because he has more access and knowledge than us,but I'm sure crollas improved under joe

I need to disagree with you there mate,Anthony IMO hasn't improved remotely has much has Ricky in the last 4 years,Ricky came to me after CJ defeat and has changed dramatically Anthony hasn't in the 4years since he left Arnie it's as plain has the nose on your face.
Gavin ree's skills are so underestimated by folk on here and I've said before only one UK fighter could give Ricky any form of fight and that's Gavin.

Not yet dave, I agree with you if Anthony can't do SFW he will remain at the level he's at just now.
I think in honesty he only moved up coz the title was vacante if I remember right and fought John watson

I really cannot see how crolla wins against Rees. I think he is going to get a bit of a beating.

Really does neet to drop down a weight if he can.

I agree with Mr Nelson, Gallagher is in dream world if he thinks crolla is ready for Burns.

Mathews has shown Crolla's level at this stage. He lacks power at the weight and is going to struggle with any pressure fighters. Granted burns isn't a traditional pressure fighter but his sheer size and fitness will apply the pressure through pace, footwork and range. Absolutely horrible fight for Crolla and the fans.

Styles make fights. I do agree with Billy about Rees being talked down a lot he is a very good boxer. I think his only problem is lack of big punching power at the highest level. I feel this fight will be competitive although I just favour Rees by a points win. If Crolla is to win then it would be a stoppage and in honesty I can't see that. Crolla is far too easy to hit he has a decent chin. Crolla should have went for Gethin that's a very winnable title. Problem is Crolla and Gallagher feel he is beyond that level which is wrong.

Why is Burns even being mentioned against the likes of Rees and Crolla nowadays ?

Mundane domestic fights should be the last thing on Burns's agenda right now.

I understand Billy is just responding to what others are saying but even discussing it seems rather pointless because ( hopefully ) it will never happen.

Crolla ready for Burns!! I wouldn't take much notice of Gallagher, he thought Murray was ready for Rios.

There is only one thing you need to look at to see how skilled Rees is....

He consistantly out jabs taller fighters with longer reaches.

He has one of the best jabs in British Boxing.

Ridiculous how underated his skill set is. I swear people talk about him like he's a clueless brawler.

Really can't see Crolla competing with Ricky or Rees for that matter.

Just out of interest Billy did you score the Froch Kessler fight? A few on here scoring it to Kessler
