As another poster already pointed out Ward said this a few years back.

''Stylistically, I think it would have been a great match-up and I have a lot of respect for the guy, but of course, as a young fighter and a young lion I feel like I would definitely win the fight and I think I would win it handily.''

Nothing wrong with that its the kind of things top fighters say when asked how fights would go.

Ok, that is seriously the dumbest ultimatum I've ever heard.

Calzaghe's 41 and been retired for going on 5 years.

He didn't say he would beat him, genius.

He said he WOULD HAVE beaten him.

Think you can grasp the difference ?

    No ?

    Okay.

Suppose Ali says he WOULD HAVE beaten Wlad, does that mean he should be prepared to back it up ?

Besides, I doubt if Ward was sufficiently classless to have called him out.

If Calzaghe comes out of retirement, it would most likely be to face Froch.

Imagine the look on Ward's face if that happened.

That's how I read it, too.... we'll only come to the UK to fight Froch, if we're guaranteed to get Calzaghe straight after.

Which, of course, is highly unlikely and why I believe Ward, deep down, has no interest in fighting in the UK. He's just posturing.

Ward's management... I'll assume Ward didn't have much say in the matter... That just sounds really dumb

Joe C was scared to fight when he was active let alone after retirement.

Ward is ****ing drunk. Although Ward vs Calzaghe would be the first boxing fight where the number of slaps far supersede the number of punches.

I like Ward, but he's rapidly developing an intolerable bunch of fanboys on this forum.
