If it's true, it's pretty stupid of Ward to have said it, although at the end of the day, he's a fighter with pride. Fighters have pride and huge egos.

Ward will not want to hear anyone say that they could have beaten him.

He might also have said what he has, in the hope that it will stop Joe from making further comments.

I think this is the 3rd time now that Joe has said it. Of course if Joe is asked the question, then he's going to answer, and there's no problem with that.

But again, no fighter wants to hear someone say that they'd have beaten them.

The way I see it is, Ward has been inactive, he's a little frustrated, and it's just a natural defence mechanism to call him out.

I don't really believe that they would be his terms of fighting Carl in a rematch.

What if it was vice versa?

Joe's got a huge ego, and he was also very arrogant. Now I'm pretty sure that if Joe was 29, and Andre was 41 and had retired, and was making comments about how he'd have beaten Joe, then I believe Joe would have called him out.

Joe would not have liked that, and I think he'd have reacted to it.
