Because the highest ranked Brit is Walsh who Burns has already knocked back as a worthless fight.....Who are these domestic worthies? Rees just got battered and isn't in the rankings at all. I told you this at lunchtime

The only decent domestic fight for Burns is against Amir Khan.

    Every other fight is pointless.

Billy are you currently training any other prospects who you think will go far?

What other trainers of the past and current do you admire and who where your boxing heroes both British and internationally?

    So it seems.

Probably a wise move considering the inevitable KO losses he'd suffer at 140 if he faced the likes of Matthysse and Garcia.

I just think Khan vs Burns would be a decent fight.

I train David Brophy as well who is coming along nicely and would beat any middle weight in Scotland already, times on our side with David hes only 22 years old and is developing each outing.
Peter Harrison is a great coach and I learnt so much from, ive just added my own things and thoughts to what he taught me because imo the basics are so important because everything is based on them, I also have a lot of time for Jimmy Tibbs speaks so much sense and has the boxers intersts at heart at all times.
I used to love Kirkland Laing he speed, movement and general skill were amazing, internationally marvin haggler was simply brilliant

Brophy seems like a prospect to keep an eye on but are you concerned at all about his lack of punching power at middleweight? is that something you can teach in a boxer or do you think knockout power is something you're born with?

It's a shame there's not more scottish boxers coming through on the bigger scene, there certainly seems to be a big market in Scotland for boxing.

Laing was always the enigma of British boxing, shame his personal problems stopped him from having the career his talent showed he could have had. Good pick with Hagler, guy is a legend and it's a shame his one appearance in a British ring was also one of the lowpoints of British boxing.

Watched a bit of Vazquez Prescott yesterday .Vazquez dropped in the first .Defintley would like to see how Burns would do against him .Still though don't think Prescott win a round after the first but Mitchell outboxed him as well so could maybe be a winable fight for Burns .Interesting to see how these 2 styles would match up .

David's por is improving all the time remember he's only 22yrs old and BJS couldn't stop Gary Bouldan so I'd say it was a very good performance given his lack of experience.
obviously there naturally heavy handed guys out there but in my experience as a coach these guys usually lack in the skills dept.
