Joe Calzaghe vs Rocky Marciano 180 LB catchweight

Lol, yeah because Rocky never faced a reach disadvantage before!

 

So did Ezzard Charles, and he was 10x the fighter Calzaghe was.

 

Spoken like someone who has never fought or had to make weight before.

 

Marciano fought (durable) journeymen who weighed 175 pounds and was unable to stop them.

Calzaghe weighs more than that and is durable himself.

Marciano is not going to stop Calzaghe.

And if he doesn't stop Calzaghe then he sure as hell won't outpoint him.

Calzaghe by very wide UD anywhere between 118-110 and 120-108 over 12 rounds, even if he broke one hand.

 

Problem is he has no advantages Rocky hasn't seen or overcome before.

 

When has Calzaghe ever had to deal with the power and stamina Marciano bring? Rocky sour wear him down and stop him like he did with better fighters like Charles, Walcott and Moore.

 

He also stopped good fighters around 200 or more.

C'mon guys this is a joke.. Joe Calzaghe tried to back out of the Jeff Lacy fight claiming "injury" he was scared of Lacy's supposed power. But Enzo kicked his ass & had to MAKE him take the fight. If he was scared of Lacy do you honestly thing he'd ever face The Rock??????? C'mon get real Calzaghe retired rather than face a rematch with Hopkins in front of his devoted welsh fans. Joe knew he never really beat Hopkins it was yet another gift

 

Why would you even contemplate that when better fighters couldn't?

 

Why was he shot? He was 33 and had solid wins before and after and still showed great skills against Marciano. How about Walcott and Moore? All 3 were better fighters than Calzaghe who never fought anyone on that level who could punch nearly as hard or had that type of stamina. You see Marciano has seen what Joe could bring, Calzaghe hasn't seen what Rocky would bring.

 

Calzaghe > Charles, Walcott and Moore. 46-0. No blueprint.
