i think that benn, eubank and froch beat everybody on joes record up to the kessler fight.......then

froch has already won and lost vs kessler
benn would beat kessler in a war
eubank would give kessler fits and win on points

froch would beat lacy by stoppage
benn would beat lacy by a stoppage
eubank would beat lacy on points

vs hopkins its a different matter

first off i scored the fight 114-113 hopkins vs calzaghe, i have only watched this fight one

benn vs hopkins, i really dont know who would win this one, it would be close but i think hopkins maybe on a close points win

froch vs hopkins, again a close fight, but if pushed maybe hopkins

eubank vs hopkins would be a crazy fight, both would drive each other crazy, again going on records, prob hopkins,

but all 3 fights would be very close

im not even going to include jones jnr as jones would easily defeat benn, eubank, calzache and froch when in his prime...

what im trying to say is Joe was a well managed fighter, his record is nothing special especially up to the kessler fight.

who are joes best wins...kessler, lacy and hopkins, for the amount of time he was champion, that is simply not good enough

benn, eubank and froch have fought harder fighters, some away from home too eg, ward, kessler, abraham, taylor, rochiggianni, barkley, mclelland, watson, collins to name a few

what im saying is that if the 3 fighters mentioned fought the fighters joe did, there is a very good chance of them having an 0 next to their record

Too many IF's and BUT's. Calzaghe was unbeaten, the rest were, simple.

I love how people want to try and manipulate the past, seems common for boxing. To compare it football just for a second .........

Was Bayern winning the champions league better than Barca or Chelsea because they had a better or easier run to the final?

History tells you who won it, not the route they took to win it.

Maybe a poor analogy I dont know but that is purely the way I see it.

its simple question....would benn , eubank and froch beat all those fighters mentioned.....there is nothing great about beating 90% of the title challengers that joe fought....benn eubank and froch would have beaten them.

Hopkins would beat Benn and Froch, but drop a dec to Eubank.

The rest - Eubank and Benn beat. Froch possibly too.

I haven't seen enough of the guys in question to answer that.

To throw it back though, would Calzaghe have beaten all of Benn, Eubank and Froch's opponents?

    And the answer is no.

Mike Watson in the Eubank rematch would've beaten him, as would Andre Ward and Gerald McClellan.

first off joe wouldnt have travelled to fight anyone

benn would have kayed joe, if hopkins and a very shot jones jnr could knock down joe then benn would keep him there

eubank and joe would be a very close fight, styles make fights, again a prime eubank could very well beat joe but it depends on joe keeping up the windmill act for 12 rounds, eubank hated that

mcllelland would ko joe no doubt, he cant just walk straight in here

barkley, again who knows but in his prime i dont think joe would go near him

rochigianni, cant see joe travelling to fight him so doubt the fight would happen

taylor and abraham i think joe wins but again would he travel

collins would have been interesting as both would throw a 1000 punches each

thats what i mean, joe should have went to the states and fought guys like jones jnr or hopkins alot sooner, he watched hatton and hamed go away and fight the best, yes they got beat but at least they we know how good they were....we dont really know how good joe was at elite level away from home vs eg a puncher or supreme fighter because he never fought anybody

ps: not fighting the best will always be thrown at joe, guys like benn, eubank and froch...this can never be mentioned, yes they lost but at least they know they fought the very best

amd i stick by my jones jnr statement, joe long with benn , eubank and froch would be lucky to win 2 rounds against him prime for prime, jones jnr was that good

Calzaghe would've stood no chance against Gerald McClellan. None at all.

Watson I believe would've worked the body with those right and left uppercuts to slow Joe down, and out-land him by blocking flurries and countering in combinations, as he did so well. We know Joe was a face-first swinger and he wouldn't beat the White Hart Lane Watson like that.

    Watson would have dominated Calzaghe.

Ward isn't beating Calzaghe, Watson-Calzaghe would've been a great fight and anything could've happened with McClellan in the ring.

Once or maybe twice out of 10 McClellan might pull the ko off, the rest of the time Joe completely schools him.
