I hate to sound like a broken record, but you just know if Khan said any of those what people would say. Carl's ego has always been big, even from the days he wasn't as big as he is now, and it's clear that it would over-inflate as soon as his success continued to climax. One deluded **** is our Carl.
froch has done a lot there is no doubt about that. I always find it quite hard to say where fighters stand in the all time best in Britain lists. I think he has definitely overtaken Calzaghe now and the same goes for Benn and Eubank. Lewis no.
The difference is that Lennox was never outclassed in his career whereas Froch was by Ward. So if the unlikely did happen and Froch beat Ward in the rematch, yes his resume would be comparable but he wouldn't be greater. That loss to Ward will always be a stain on his record when comparing him to British greats because of the manner in which he lost.
If he was chocolate he'd eat himself. I prefer the humble Froch but all too often we see the real side of him, which is anything he does is the best, looks like the ego has grown even more since the win.

Froch does deserve a very high ranking among the greatest British boxers of all-time. The difference between him and many others is the quality of opposition. I think Calzaghe was a better fighter than Froch but I have no issue with someone ranking Froch ahead of Calzaghe, simply because over a short time period, Froch's level of opposition has been drastically better. That addition of 'over a short time period' is relevant too, because it's much harder to fight 5 elite fighters in quick succession than it is to fight them over a 10 year career. Yeah, he's lost but that's what happens when you face world class fighters in a row, all with different qualities and different styles. In a world where boxing fans constantly rely on mythical head to head match-ups, Froch has actually proven his world class ability by fighting the best in the world since 2008. That's 5 years of fighting the best around, with one notable exception in Mack, who is still a solid top 20 guy. The only blemish on Froch's career is a loss to Ward. Is being beaten on points by a future ATG as as being knocked out by McCall and Rahman? I don't think so. That's not to say I think Froch is greater than Lewis because I don't, but if people are going to get hung up on losses, which is more hurtful? A clear loss to Ward or two knockout losses against fighters who were otherwise unremarkable? Froch is one of those fighters who will always be overlooked by boxing fans, probably because of his ungainly in-ring style, but in 15 years time, people will look back on his record and remember how good it was, especially in an era where the elite sporadically face the best they possibly can. Naz could have fought Marquez, Morales and others, Eubank could have fought Jones or Toney, Benn could have fought Jones or Toney, Calzaghe could have fought Hopkins when he was closer to his prime, Hatton could have fought Cotto, but none of those fights happened. Froch has faced everyone who'd step into the same ring as him and that is very commendable. It's laughable how people react to these claims though. You might think he's wrong but it's not like he's a million miles off. It's not like he's got a record similar to Ricky Burns or someone like that.
Probably saying it to tempt Calzaghe out of retirement. His best win is against Kessler and a past it shop worn version at that. On that basis alone Calzaghe is above him, and Lennox is far ahead.
Two people I knew would 100% support carl on this - one has posted and the other will prob do so this evening For both reasons are not boxing - they are only due to the fact he is with matchroom Joe is the greatest smw ever , but ward is there or thereabouts as well, carl is closing in but not yet ! People forget he has been saying he passed calz a few fights ago
Whilst he's not as good as Joe, Naz etc has anyone faced the caliber of opponents that Carl has on such a regular basis?
