Lennox Lewis Training David Price for Thompson II

I remember Buddy McGirt saying that top fighters often struggle as trainers cause they often try to impose their style on the fighter and don't have the patience to accept it'll take time for them to learn and the style might not be right for them to begin with. I think Pernell Whitaker is a good example of this, he advises his fighters (at least from the couple of fights I've seen) to fight as if they were him. Plus there's a difference between teaching and training.

Price has a 82" reach... that's pretty damn big if you ask me.

Vitali just didn't have the skin to take those shots. TKO6 brother. Lewis gave Vitali his shot and he failed. Lewis took Vitali's best shots and his face was not ripped because he has thicker skin. If Lewis would have fought Vitali again he would have been in better shape. It would have been worse for VItali. Even if he was able to take shots from Lewis again his skin would have let him down again. Lewis was just better than both Klitschko's. WLad would not last one round with Lewis with that weak chin.

Steward did it to Wlad. WLad has one of the weakest chins in boxing history and look how well he has done. Price will have to learn the art of jab and grab like Wlad and Lewis did. It can be done if Price is willing to learn. Price can go just as far as VLad the egg did. Price has more weapons on offense than WLad has. I think Lewis is the right trainer for Price. I think Price is going to prove a lot of people wrong. He just needs to slow down not try to ko everyone in ther first round. If WLad fought Price's style he would get koed all the time.

82'' isn't that big for someone of his height of course he has long arms but he is also like 6'8'' he towers Lewis and he he very video shoulders. I think they should measure the arm length and not the reach since the shoulders and your hand size can influence it.
And why did Lewis cut his dreads he looks about 20 years older without them

 

So weird seeing Lennox look small compared to another fighter. He was as big as they came back in his heyday..
