People will be surprised how easy Angulo will win this fight. His activity, power and chin will be key here. You dont have to be that fast to land on Lara as he is no defensive wiz. Lesser fighters have found him and Angulo has decent timing as well to make up for his slow hands.

Pressure will break Lara later on in the fight. I see this being a UD win for Angulo or a stoppage from rounds 8-12.

Lara will also have the judges stacked against him, because GBP is way more interested in angulo vs canelo in a firefight then Lara the MMA and chockehold technician, so a sd angulo would not surprise me I'm sure his running is gonna have the crowd against him and angulos power and pressure will win the refs and crowd.

It wont even be the judges man. I said this years ago when the 154 prospects were all coming up. Lara would have a good time with a boxer who takes his time. Back then I said it and will say it again. Lara would lose to Angulo and Kirkland(Now that we have seen Kirklands weak chin maybe not though).
Too much pressure with too much power. While this would give Lara chances for his counter punching style he does not hit hard enough or throw in more than one punch at a time to stop these guys. The pressure Angulo brings is very good. I expect him to come out throwing 80+ punches a round and Lara to answer with 30 punches and 30 clinches. Eventually the ref will say stop clinching and then it will be downhill for him.

:patsch So you expect fans to forget how he was outboxed by Kermit Cintron...All of that pressure you implying seem to not work when Angulo's target isn't sitting stationary....Angulo is gonna get countered all night when he fights Lara...i'm failing to see how all of the pressure you speak of is gonna some how effect Lara when he has some of the best footwork in the game today...You're pretty much reaching with this pressure talk.

I got Angulo winning this. Despite being undersized, Freddy Hernandez was able to absorb Lara's best and dish out some punishment of his own, particularly to the body. I think Angulo's style will be poison for Lara.

Yeah Angulo has the style to hurt Lara, the referees may just help him win if it goes to decision, seeing how good lara is at running and evading. Decision is a likely outcome, unless angulo stops following closes the gap like Freddy Hernandez was able to, I see it happening. I give Angulo a 30%-40% chance.

Lara doesn't have power, he hit Paul Wall with a million lefts direct connects with all his power and Pwill ate it like nothing, he will not stop Angulo his best bet is to land his Patented HEAD BUTT, cut him up and work on the cut, thats the only way it gets stopped. and its likely seeing as lara is one of the dirtiest fighters in the sport. when things arent going his way he fouls.

No dount the freddy hernandez fight shows how weak minded lara is, and how he hates throwing punches, he rather run around pot shot, but a good pressure fighter can corner him and go to work, specially to the body.

I expect angulo to employ a similar gameplan, the thing is angulo is a big hitter and big JR MW, so little freddy hernandez working on him shows angulo gots a shot..

I mean freddy hernandez got KTFO in one round vs BERTO, and Lara went life and death... lol

No I remember that and it still does not affect my prediction. It is rumored that Angulo had a flu before that fight which is supposed to be why his performance was so lack luster. I take that with a grain of salt. Still though Cintron has better power and Lara, is taller and is much more active.

In that fight Cintron threw alot of punches. Well over a thousand sharp punches to keep Angulo at bay. You think Lara is going to throw over 1000 punches?

Last I remember Cintron was very very active in that fight, styles make fights and cintron never took many breaks and chilled on the ropes, he boxed and boxed. A lot of people like to use the cintron fight as **** talk, but Angulo I believe had problems, and cintron stylystically is much different then lara.

Lara will not throw 1000+ punches to keep Angulo off of him and angulo with the right gameplan like freddy showed, he is easily frustrated.

    Check the compubox.

    Angulo

    277 / 957

    Cintron

    316 / 1094

    Lara

    246 / 561

    Hernandez
    128 / 710

Here comes the excuses....So he must have been sick as well when he lost to Kirkland???:patsch

He doesn't need to throw 1000 some odd punches to keep Angulo honest...Sharp counters will make Angulo think twice about trying to swarm and gain real estate against Lara...Angulo is tough but that's not gonna get him anywhere in this match up...And he's shown to tire out as well post prison stint...I respect your opinion but I truly don't see that happening.

I don't see Angulo keeping up with Lara once he sticks and move and counter him everytime Angulo tries to push forward...Angulo is to slow he will pay dearly trying to push forward IMO.

Even if he did what is Lara going to do? He isnt aggressive and come forward. If anything Lara would allow Angulo to catch his second wind with the few punches he throws a round.

I doubt it, I think Lara boxes him silly and wins a decision.

Lara is not that big of a puncher really.

    Cintron stunned PW.
    Martinez stunned and stopped PW.
    Margarito stunned PW
    Quintana stunned PW.

Lara fought him after Martinez shattered his jaw too. I was very surprised Lara did not stop him. Hell, even Ishida stunned PW. The PW Lara fought was not the PW of old that had a sturdy chin.
