Whitaker vs Chavez was at catchweight (145)

Castillo vs Corrales (135) no more than 140 re-hydrated

    Leonard vs Lalonde (168)

Does this take away from the greatness of the fights or the legacy of the fighters. Pretty sure a lot of you teens had no clue.

So instead of coming in at 172 fight night he might come in at 170 fight night and Pac fans oops I mean new Canelo fans are bitching?

If both sides decide with out the other getting pressured I don't mind it.

    Good fight regardless!

Canelo has 12 rounds to land just one punch that can end the fight. I give Floyd credit for taking on a middle weight hiding out at junior middle weight.

Yeah man, the Catchweight was to accommodate Chavez, not Pernell. He already took the title from McGirt at the full limit.

He beat Julio Cesar Vasquez at 154.

You have to remember that this is ESB and they all started watching boxing in 2005.

I see no problem at all about 152 pound limit. Alvarez is huge, and Mayweather has never been comfortable above 147. 152 pounds is better than if Floyd made a rehydration limit. Canelo fought Matthew Hatton at around 151 and he looked good to me

The issue is that the same *****s who were constantly shitting on Pac for using catch-weights are now defending Floyd. Plus Floyd already fought Oscar and Cotto at 154, why does he have to change the limit for Canelo?

Because De la Hoya was the star in the fight and he chose everything. And Canelo is bigger than him and weighs I think 8 pounds more than Cotto fight night.

I have no problem with catchweights as long as there is no Pacquiao hating from the Floyd fans , but then when Floyd does it , its then all ok.

    No hypocrosy and Im happy.

The reason why I dont think is the same about Pac, is that because Pacquiao uses his power to stop his opponents, Floyd relies much more on skills. For instance the Cotto fight, everytime Pacquiao touched him his leggs would buckle you cant say the same about Floyd he wins fights by skill

And De La Hoya looked like a dead man against Pacquiao. He didnt ask him to go down 2 ponds but a whole weight division. De la Hoya looked like a corpse

But I thought Floyd wanted his opponents to be comfortable? Canelo should just say **** the catchweight and come in at 154 anyway like Floyd did against JMM.

I think like you said they agreed 152 but the fight will go on anyway if Canelo weighs in at 154, but he has to pay some amount of money for it. If I was Canelo I would pay and would weigh in at 154
