Except for that they agreed to a settlement BEFORE the weigh in.

Thus OFFICIALLY changing the weight limit.

I treat it as a CW fight since that was the original agreement, though, which is why I said Floyd has 2 and Pacquiao has 3.

You are a hypocrite for discounting one of Pac's and then calling it "2 all."

    Wow...

    I agree with you.

I never said anything to the contrary.

What do you think of Oscar forcing Hopkins into a catchweight of 156 pounds for the 160 pound title?

Too many people are willing to jump on the catchweight train, but I like to look at it as a tool to make fights happen between 2 fighters from different weight classes. If both agree to it, why not?

Obviously the p4p fighter has higher expectations set on him so people want the higher rated fighter to do more work to "even the odds" but in the end it's the spirit of the competition that's important and nothing's worse than a fight NOT happening.

I only discredit to point out double standards, but I have nothing but respect for the elite warriors who go out and make the good fights. Props to Floyd and Alvarez for coming to an agreement (and quickly; ie **** arum).

    It's fine.

From now on, *******s should remain silent about the catchweight for this fight, and the *****s should stop bringing up catch-weights to diss Pac.

  8. Pac did not have to Pay **** the night before because he could not make weight... Huge difference but your BIAS blinds you.:thumbsup

Because the 154 division is in fact the "junior middleweight" division and not the "154" division.

A "junior middleweight" fight is any that takes place above the "welterweight" 147 pound limit.

So a 147.1 pound catchweight could be used for the junior middleweight titles.

In fact, two 142 pound fighters could fight for the junior middleweight titles.

    Anything below 154 pounds.

    It is a limit.

    Not a minimum.

How does that explain why you only count Pac as having 2 CW fights and not 3?

    I'll wait.

You're the one who said it, and that's all I've been trying to figure out from you.

And you call me blinded by bias... Word.

People have their own opinions about catchweights etc, I don't mind as long as they stay consistent and not just back it when their guy is doing it.

If you think catchweights are ok, stay ok with it, if you hate it, stay hating it regardless of who's doing the request
