What about the rest of your boys? The activity from Alvarez fanbase is nearly nonexistent.

But if Floyd cared about his haters, he might have dropped the testing demands, no?

  3. So all this time you have been saying Pac's catchweight are to his advantage and now you back track..You bought up some strange **** right there.
FACT JMM had less disadvantage against Pac than he did Fraud... hence Catch weight to Fraud not to Pac.
You can keep your opinion, and I will mine.
Oh and Factual!! when its your opinion of who it suits or who it hinders. Catch weights are there to even things up. Fraud Failed in his catch weight and it ended up being in his ADVANTAGE which is what YOU say Pac has when he has fought Cotto and Marg.
To bring up hairstyles and trunks in a debate about catch weights is hillarious you should be a comedian.

Nobody is forcing Floyd to weigh in at 154. He can come in whatever weight he wants just not above 154.

Its about that four 154lb titles on the line , 2 champs at 154(So why not fight at 154?) .
There is no other reason why they would pull it down to 152.. They want to take Canelo out of his comfort zone.. Call it draining or whatever.

Now would the 2 lbs matter? I don't know.

But from a guy who constantly says that he wants to fight the best at the weight they are comfortable and kept on bashing a guy that fights CWs..

Safe to say he's a hypocrite right?

So why the catchweight? Does the extra 2 lbs of pail-freckly skin really scare Floyd that much?

Why do Pacquiao fans try to claim maths and logic when they come across as the ******ed set of fans?

    Cotto Pacquiao 145 lbs
Cotto comes in at 146 lbs the fight before
Cotto WW title on the line even though it's 2 lbs below the weight limit.
Pacquiao never fought below 147 again after this fight.

    Canelo Mayweather 152 lbs
Canelo comes in at 153 lbs the fight before.
Canelo JMW title on the line even though it's 2 lbs below the weight limit.
No way in hell does Mayweather not go back to 147 after this fight.

I don't understand how these two situations are different, if anything Mayweather comes off as better and more suited to a catchweight. I don't understand how someone can support one and not the other. I think the fight should be at 154 but like Cotto Pac I don't think the 2 lbs will make a difference on the outcome. If the catchweight is required to allow the fight to be made I'm okay with it.

tliang, it's just clear as day that Floyd fights who he wants to fight - under the exact circumstances that he wants to fight them-, critics be damned. He's earned that privilege.

And you've stated several times in this thread alone that 'haters gonna hate', so why should he care?

Fair play to May for fighting a younger, stronger and bigger guy.
I am not a fan of Mayweather but I respect him as a fighter, should be a good fight I think 1of them is getting Koed.

Are we really arguing that one guy had 3 catchweight fights and the other guy had 2???

****ing hell they're BOTH using catchweights ffs this is like arguing over who has 5 cookies vs 6 in the cookie jar

Having a catchweight for a megafight like this is ridiculous, but business is business and Canelo needs Floyd more than Floyd needs Canelo. Or does he?
Who else would have been available to fight in September and also has the name recognition and/or fan base to headline a PPV?

    1) Khan won't fight in September for obvious reasons.
    2) Garcia and Matthysse are out because Golden Boy wants Garcia/Matthysse to be an eliminator to fight Floyd.
    3) A Cotto rematch makes no sense until Junito can put together a couple of wins.
    4) There will never be any demand for Mosley-Mayweather II.
    5) Broner isn't ready and Golden Boy doesn't want to ruin someone with such a bright future. Lose-Lose situation...

    Who else is there?

Hindsight is always 20/20 but Canelo probably could have gotten the fight at 154 without such intense pressure from Schaeffer to get it done.
