In 2011 Canelo agreed to a catch-weight fight at 150 with Matthew Hatton for the vacant WBC junior middleweight title. Hatton came in under the 150 agreed weight with no issues Canelo came in over the limit at 151.8lbs.

Why no uproar when Canelo fought a WW at a catchweight for a 154lbs title and didnt even make the weight?:think

Leonard had a catch-weight with Hagler at 158lbs and Hagler wasn't 22lbs bigger than Leonard on the "night of" weigh-ins.

There's not much uproar here, either.

Canelo looked pretty weight drained and weakened in that fight

yet another reason why a 150lb CW with Floyd as some suggested would have been bollocks

"It's 152, and that is fine," Alvarez said. "I will have to work a little harder, but I feel I can make the weight and that I will be strong. To make the fight I had to give a little, he had to give a little, too. I feel it was fair, and both sides are happy. He fought [with a contract weight of] 154 before, but he wanted the [catchweight] and I accepted it. He gave a little, I gave a little, and we got the fight done."

Man, it's over with. Lets not fight over this. Canelo has gotten the much deserved hate for that ***** title he got.

I had no idea that there was a catchweight agreement at 150lbs for Canelo's title fight with Matthew Hatton. None at all. This makes the agreed upon catchweight limit for Mayweather-Alvarez at 152, and with "NO" rehydration clause, all but completely reasonable.
