Canelo a few fights ago was struggling with Cotto's cousin, he is still barely out of his teens, he is short, no real speed to trouble Mayweather ( something he is terrified about) he's faced old ass shot Mosley and struggled with Trout... his only higher calibre opposition yet he is ready for Mayweather?

I always said this was a perfect fight for Mayweather, he could gain respect from boxing fans taking on a perceived threat when there is no threat. Floyd has the reactions and ability not to get hit at all from ALvarez, Alvarez has ONE advantage, being heavier which counts for nothing. This will do well with PPV as Canelo has a big fan base and a lot of people are sedated into believing Canelo stands a chance because he is heavier and went life and death with Trout.

I'd have expected this site to have fans with a little more knowledge and perspective than the average drunk off the street, but I guess that was optimistic.

if Canelo actually improves his conditioning, he may give Floyd as close a fight as DLH, but i don't see this going in Canelo's favour unless he knocks Floyd out

I agree with some of the things you said about Canelo.

But, name a more competitive fight for Mayweather right now.

He has only a weight advantage. Mayweather will destroy him and his footwork alone will wear Canelo out within 5-6 rounds. I can't even see Canelo connecting with a big shot as he doesn't have the speed to throw Mayweathers timing off.

right now, Pacquaio is still the most competitive, yes he's declined and suffered a big KO loss, but that much speed and power is always going to be a problem, Mayweathers asset is his reaction, timing and speed, all of this will be thrown off against Pac. it's why some people think Khan will be a good fight, I don't think Khan would do anything but Pac has the assets to beat him.

There are some good fighters from 140 that could be made, but in terms of money, this fight is perfect for Floyd, the risk isn't much and the reward huge.

He made it happen because canelo is with gbp. When Cotto left Top Rank he soon got a fight with Floyd. It is obvious that Arum is the only man in boxing whom Floyd avoids. Put Pac with GBP and the fight with Floyd will easily happen. I am 99% sure of this.

Seeing that showtime has not released the ppv numbers of the mayweather guerrero fight. It raises some questions on guerrero's fan base.

And in order to make up what money may have lost in terms of ppv buys I think Floyd chose to fight Canelo, as I think he has a much bigger fan base than what guerrero has.

canelo - floyd will sell very well, but showtime might fall into a false sense of security over the numbers
why they offered floyd such a lucrative deal without half a dozen high profile opponents available who would sell is poor research

*****s come in many different colors.

So you're giving him props, blacktop? Never had you for a hater, but there's been some unflattering stuff too.
