*****'s ignoring the facts and reasons again.

Yeah a barely out of teens fighter who struggled against D level Cotto's cousin then fought 1 big name who is a grandpa and a dubious debatable decision over Trout is ready for Mayweather :patsch

Mayweather is like Goebbels if he can convince people this is a legit threat.

canelo has only come into his own with the trout fight - before we didnt know if he was the real deal or not - but he's the best selling and highest profile fighter out there for floyd (and showtime)

Trout isn't a marque name, nor is he someone who has dazzling skills, no-one really expected Canelo to lose that and in a lot of peoples eyes he did.

Canelo is a big star based on the fact of his nationality and the way he is marketed, his resume is terrible, Trout is the only competitive name on it but he isn't exactly world class.

Canelo just doesn't have anything to worry Mayweather and couple that with his lack of experience against good opposition I feel Mayweather will make him look silly, I really expect a shut out.

i agree, canelo's true strength is his fanbase. trout could easily be one of these fighters people rarely mention again
it's impressive though to see him get this fight at this age - and how the catchweight affects him come fight night will probably have more to do with how competitive he is than his outright ability

i wouldn't be surprised at a shutout either

If its NOT a shutout, some serious questions marks will be raised regarding Floyds actual ability. A Leonard or Duran would have shut this overhyped green kid out, i expect no less from Mayweather

I am an institution here, people followed my fighting career, my porn career and my bodybuilding modelling career, you're an obscure D list ***** who no-one will care about after I hit send on this.

Fact remains, this fight won't be competitive as Canelo is short, average speed, average power and average assets/skills.

Great fight for Mayweather and will make him a lot of money for a glorified sparring session.

I hadn't even thought about the possibility of Mayweather looking bad, you're right, if he looks bad it will raise serious question marks about him, if he lost... it will destroy his legacy.... but I can't see either of those scenarios playing out against Canelo

you're already making excuses for floyd not getting the shutout

  11. Canelo might well beat Mayweather this extra weight Canelo brings will make a difference.

what guy with moderate speed has tagged Mayweather clean enough to hurt him?

I don't see Canelo as faster than Marqueerz and Floyd handled his speed so easily, ok Marqueer wasn't in top shape and motivated but I just don't see canelo even catching him once.

I've always said this, and I think Mayweather knew this himself. It will never happen now though so this is currently the next best thing

Na pac has no chance now. He nearly died last time out, really surprised Mayweathers didnt call him out, esp given Pacs recent pro drug testing stance

Come to think of it, thats why pac has suddenly become pro testing. He realizes his stock's taken a huge nosedive, so he's desperate to try and reignite interest in what would have been the richest fight in baaxing history

I can see it happening if both guys get past their cherry picked opponents

Canelo is young, strong, powerful, heavy hitting and can box to a gameplan. This is the most risky fight of Mayweathers career.
