Canelo is inferior to Floyd in almost every category but he has good pop in his punches and thsts the only thing making this fight exciting

 

canelo's ring IQ will probably be the biggest factor in determining how competitive he is in this fight
floyd's is terrific, and canelo will need to have a clear head while he's taking lead rights to change the playing field once floyd does

The single most important punch in this fight, in my book, is Floyd's lead right. If Floyd has anywhere near the accuracy with it he generally does, it's going to be a long night for Alvarez. Floyd's so good at disrupting his opponent's offense with it, and it packs enough pop to damage and demoralize them. That's the punch that leaves guys struggling for answers against him.

Saul's going to have to take his head movement to the next level and really work on his timing to neutralize it. How he boxed against Trout was promising, but he needs to shift it to another gear. If he can do that, he'll have a chance to pull off the upset. Easier said than done. If he can't, it won't be for lack of effort.

Good think you are not in Canelos corner or he would not win 2 rounds, he has power and size advantage(nothing else) and your "knowledgeable" tactic is to not use one of only 2 advantages he hasatsch
If by some miracle Canelo stands and wait to "opportunity presents it self" he will just get picked of and lose 9 3 kind of decision, but he aint dumb he will apply pressure.

It will only be a pure chess match if Canelo intends on not pressuring Floyd.

And he'll be badly outboxed. You can't simply go into a chess match against Floyd, you need to make him work and you need to get close.

I agree with him, Canelo brings an advanced Version of what he brought with Trout and Floyds in a tough Boxing match.

Canelo doesnt have to put consistent pressure, he has to simply switch gears randomly, pressure in spots score go back to boxing moving and countering.

if he does to Floyd what he did with Trout I have no doubt your going to see a much different Mayweather after the 6th and 7th round, Floyd will be forced to take more risk and to come forward especially if Canelo gets a good lead on the cards early and decides to make Floyd come to him from the sixth on.

and in doing so Floyd has to use his legs much more than he would like to, lets also factor in Canelos body shots, Guerrero was able to nail Floyd there pretty good so was Ortiz and Cotto....

Being as young as Canelo is with his size advantage he hits that body early and switches gears as we discussed your not only going to see Floyd being forced to use his legs much more but he too will fade in the later rounds.

This will be a chess match both will box, Canelo just has to apply the pressure in spots early.. Floyd throws one shot at a time only really opens up with combinations if he has no concern for the incoming here he is going to have to be very careful not to over commit but Canelo himself is a good counter puncher and if Floyd is throwing that one right hand at a time as he did with Cotto and Guerrero I can see Canelo stepping away from that shot and clubbing Floyd with his own.

it will be a chess match but I do believe Floyd hits the deck in this fight weather he has it in him to get up or not we will find that out in Sept.
