the point is pacman didnt fight a natural 154 lb fighter - thats why this was such a big deal for this fight

EDIT : i hope that first 'title' you're crediting isnt the OPBF

Cotto had beaten Jennings by TKO and Clottey by SD in between those fights. He'd had 2 fights to get confidence back! Fighters lose and come back, Floyd has fought fighters who have lost before also.

Buster Douglas had the strain of his mother's death before the Tyson fight. Cotto started the fight off looking great, Pacquiao had to adjust

Stop with the excuses, you're sounding silly

haha yes. He already started to argue the differences between Pacs and floyds.
Fact is Margo and Cotto both looked great against Manny. So we'll only know if canelo is drained or not once he's in the ring

I respect him opinion on anything except floyd on pac. When discusing floyd/pac he turns into a mroon.

Margarito pummelled Pacquiao a number of times, and himself took more punishment than I've seen a lot guys take - if he was drained then I hate to see how much he can take when he's not drained...

The only fighter who from the 3 people complain about who was drained was DLH - but that was technically not a catchweight - it was at 147, the only weight that fight could have been made at considering one was at 135 and the other at 154...

The hypocrisy will go on though

Canelo will still come into the ring @ 170 lbs. He's 22, so, I'm pretty sure he can lose those extra 2lbs. in training. People are making too big a deal about the catch weight stuff at the end of the day. Both fighters have advantages coming into this fight, too, which makes the 152 even less big a deal.

Canelo is younger, bigger, and stronger. Floyd is smarter, faster, and more experienced.

This fight is brilliant, because it's going to show just how limited Canelo really is. The only chance Canelo has is if he is able to land more than one good shot in a row that maybe Floyd doesn't see coming, and we all know how unlikely that is. If you thought Floyd was on the move vs. Guerrero, he's going to be even faster in this fight.

Canelo, will literally be swinging at air in this fight. It's going to be funny.

I think the same, if it is not same day weigh in and he has to make 152 the same day, what would be crazy than it is no problem. 152 or 154 and making 1 day later 170 is no difference.

How do you know he can lose those extra 2lbs?

    Could Floyd against JMM?

Also its much harder to lose the weight when you are still a growing fighter.

This is bull**** and should be at 154.

  9. Canelo can easily drop 2lbs it's no big deal, he will still outweigh Mayweather by 20lbs.

we won't know this until fight night unfortunately.

The same posters who were claiming Alvarez is a huge light middle who should be fighting at super middleweight, are now saying he will easilly be able to drop 2 lbs with no affect!!!

Canelo himself said: "I'm going to be able to make the weight comfortably"

I totally agree. People are making a big deal out of nothing. I can understand if Canelo was fighting someone like Pacquiao and he had to drop to 152, then yeah, he'd be killing himself. But he's not fighting Pacquiao. He's fighting Mayweather. So dropping the extra two pounds will be a piece of ****. A catchweight for this -- with the titles being on the line -- is perfectly fine.
